Facilities Bangkok Port is located on the east side of the Chao Phraya River between km. +26.5 and km. +28.5 at the entrance to Prakanong Canal, Klongtoey District, Bangkok. Offshore Area : The offshore area along the outer bar channel under the jurisdiction of the Port Authority of Thailand begins from the km. -18 downstream to the Phra Chullachomklao Fort at the km. 0, which is 18 kms. long. The inner bar channel begins from the Phra Chullachomklao Fort at the km. 0 downstream to the Memorial Bridge at the km. 48, which is 48 kms. long. The total distance is 66 kms. long. Access : The approach to the port is made through the bar channel, which is 18 kms. long, 150 meters wide in the reaches and 250 meters wide in the bend. The channel is maintained to a depth of -8.5 M.S.L. The depth of the river within the port area varies from 8.5 meters to 11 meters below M.S.L. Inland Area : The Bangkok Port covers an area of about 941.2 acres (2,353 rais), 359.2 acres (898.2 rais) are inside the customs fence while 44 acres (110.2 rais) are outside the customs fence, 86.8 acres (216.4 rais) are for government use, 137.76 acres (344 rais) are rented for government use, 156.36 acres (390.9 rais) are rented for private use, 79 acres (197.5 rais) are slum area and 79.6 acres (190.6 rais) are for access roads. Dredging Service : In 2009, survey work and dredging service within Bangkok Port and Laem Chabang Port areas were conducted. Dredged materials from both ports were 3,893,288 cu.m. Dredging service at private wharves was conducted by request. To ensure safe and convenient navigation, depth survey and installation of navigation aids at navigation channel within Bangkok Port and Laem Chabang Port areas were also conducted. Cargo Operations Area includes • West quay covers an area for rendering services for container/general cargo, conventional, coastal berth and Bangkok Port’s lighter. Laem Chabang Port Laem Chabang Port is situated at Tungsukhla Sub-district, Sriracha District and Banglamung Sub-district, Banglamung District of Chon Buri Province. The port covers an area of around 2,536 acres (6,340 rais).

11 berths at Basin 1 were leased out for private sector’s investment, management and operation. At present, all berths have been operated : A0-A5 and B1-B5 are able to handle containers totalling 4.3 million T.E.U.s/year. 4 berths out of 7 berths at Basin 2, have been operated : C3 (since July 2004), C0 (since February 2007) C1-C2 (October 2007), meanwhile, the Series D Berths D1-D3 are expected to be in operation in 2011 for accommodating containers totalling 6.8 million T.E.U.s/year. Upon the full operation in 2011, the overall berths at Basin 1 and 2 will have the maximum container accommodation capacity of 11.1 million T.E.U.s. • Chiang Saen Port

The port, situated alongside the Mekong River at Chiang Saen District, Chiangrai Province, covers an area of around 3.6 acres (9 rais), facing the Mekong River opposite to Democratic People’s Republic of Laos and adjacent to highway No.1290 (Rimkong Road) connecting Chiang Saen and Chiang Khong Districts at the back. Berth The berth was installed with 2 pontoons, each of which is 12 meters wide and 50 meters long with the maximum accommodation capacity of 8 barges at a time. The quayside terminal of 250 meters length was constructed with a roofed gang way of 6 meters width and 30 meters length to facilitate loading and discharging of cargo by truck.

• Chiang Khong Port The port is situated at Chiang Khong Sub-district, Chiangrai Province, opposite to Huaysai, Borkaew Sub-district, Democratic People’s Republic of Laos and adjacent to Highway No.1290 connecting Chiang Saen and Chiang Khong Districts at the back. The port has run its business with the aim of upgrading the efficiency of import-export services and promoting border trade between Democratic People’s Republic of Laos and Thailand. Berth The quayside terminal with a width of 22 meters and a length of 160 meters was constructed to accommodate 3-5 motor vessels up to 80-150 gross tonnage each at a time. • Ranong Port The port, situated at the eastern bank of Kra Buri River, Pak Num Sub-district, Muang District, Ranong Province, covers an area of about 126 acres (315 rais). The bar channel begins from the eastern side of Koh Chang to the Terminal. The total distance is 28 kms. long, 8 meters M.S.L. deep and 200 meters wide. Navigation aids are installed throughout the bar channel to ensure safe navigation. Berth Multi-Purpose Berth with a 26-meter width and 134-meter length is able to accommodate 2 barges at a time, the maximum loading each of which is not exceeding 500 gross tonnage. Two access bridges, each of which is 7.5 meters wide and 212 meters long were constructed for connecting the berth and hinterland. Container Berth with a 30-meter width and 150-meter length is able to accommodate 1 cargo vessel of 12,000 DWT at a time. An access bridge of 7.5 meters width and 210 meters length connecting hinterland and a bridge of 10 meters width and 40 meters length connecting Multi-Purpose Berth were constructed.
