OWA – 3 Step Login OWA Outlook Web App email has pretty themes, but no Ribbon. A convenient place to check your mail and calendar on the go using the internet.

Step 1

Open your web browser (Examples: Internet Explorer or Firefox)

Step 2

Click in the address bar window and type: https://mail.metroed.net/owa and press enter on your keyboard or click the green arrow button

Step 3

Click in the user name box and type your user name: metroed\atrainer Do not add or select from auto fill; your “full email address” metroed\atrainer”@metroed.net” Tab to or click in the Password box and type your password.

OWA - Group by Conversations

This view groups all messages with the same subject together into one item and helps you keep track of everyone’s replies.

OWA - Reply or Forward Email From the List Pane double click or press enter to open email and then choose Reply, Reply All or Forward in the top left corner.

Or from the Reading Pane click on one of the action arrows; Reply, Reply All or Forward.

Type your Message in the body of the email. Format your text using the toolbar items. Click Send in the top left corner to send your message.

OWA - Find Someone - Address Book Click on the words Find Someone

Begin typing the person’s first or last name, press enter to open Contact page

Click on shortcut name in blue typeface to open a new message to the contact mlarson

The nickname will be placed in the To: field of the new message. Begin typing your message, SEND.

OWA - Find Someone - Address Book continued Click on the Address Book Icon

Search by scrolling the list, or begin typing the person’s first or last name in the search box, press enter to view Contact page in the Reading Pane. Click on the nickname in blue typeface to open a new message.

OWA - Send a New Message to one or more contacts Click on New in the List Pane to open the untiltiled message box

Click on To… to open the Address Book

Select a name, click on To, Cc or Bcc to add names to the new message. Click OK at the bottom right corner when you have completed selecting names. If you have other addresses that are not part of your address book, you may type the address in the To, Cc or Bcc fields (use ; between names). Begin typing your message.

OWA - Add a New Contact

Click on Contacts in the Navigation Pane Click on New or select New Contact from the drop down list

Use the Jump to: headers to jump to information fields within the new contact. Enter the information for your contact. • Name (Profile) • Email address (Contact) Save and Close New Contact is added

Personal Contacts will not appear in the Global Address Book Click on Contacts Search for New Contact name Click on New Message icon or the email address in blue typeface to send a new message.

OWA - Add a New Group

Click on Contacts in the Navigation Pane Click on New or select New Group from the drop down list

Name your Group Click on Members button

Select Names from the Address Book and your Contacts then click on Members button Click on OK

OWA - Add a New Group continued Click on Add to Group Review list of names To remove a name, highlight the name and click on Remove from Group button. When finished, click on Save and Close

Group name appears in Contact list and Groups Email group or select from names within the list in the Reading Pane by clicking on email address in blue type face

Future edits Double click on Group name to return to edit window Click on Members to select additional name Click Add to Group Or highlight name in list and Remove from Group Save and Close

Double click a day to open Untitled Appointment Enter Appointment and/ or Meeting name in the subject field Uncheck “All day event” to set specific time of event Add a description

Click the Repeat icon to set repeating appointments and/or meetings Click on Invite Attendees icon

Type recipient’s nicknames, or choose from address book. Appointment box will close when you click Send. You may reopen the date to track responses, cancel or reschedule the appointment and/or meeting by double clicking on the appointment. 13
