With the upgrade to new email servers and Exchange Server 2003, you will experience enhanced functionality working remotely in Outlook Web Access. This page provides an overview of these expanded features and new look-and-feel. z z z z

New Login Screen New Look and Feel Working in your Inbox Options: More Choices and Functions

More information regarding the Outlook Exchange Upgrade Project.

OUTLOOK WEB ACCESS: New Log-in Options -

to be available AFTER October 2007 During the transition phase for the Outlook Exchange upgrade, the same login screen will remain until all users' mailboxes have been migrated to the new servers. After October 2007 when the migration is complete, the log-in screen shown at left will display for all users. You will continue to enter ccac\username and your network account password as you have in the past. There are two additional options to choose when you login:

Page 2 of 11 Client: Choose Premium if you wish to have full functionality as described on this page. Choose Basic if you're on a slow connection. The basic client provides fewer features than the premium client but offers faster performance. Security: Choose Public if you use Outlook Web Access on a public computer. Choose Private if you are the only person who uses the computer. This will allow a longer period of inactivity before logging you off. (24 hr. timeout)

Outlook Web Access is now designed to look and act more like the Outlook program on your desktop at work. What's New? z z z z z z z

Icons display for messages, appointments, etc. Reading Pane is available Follow-up flags Tasks are now available remotely Rules are now available remotely Spell-checking Signatures

Working in your Inbox More Views Click on the drop-down arrow next to the Inbox title to adjust the view for messages in your inbox. See Options below to see how you can increase the number of messages that display on your screen at a time.

Different views for messages Easier to Sort your Inbox Click on each header to sort by Sender, Subject or Date/ Time Received. Click once for Ascending Order or twice for Descending Order.

Sort by clicking on any header. Do More with Messages in your Inbox You can now right-click on one or more messages and see the same options you do when working directly in Outlook. This includes the new feature of Follow Up, in which you can flag items that need to be done, or mark as complete. You can also mark a message for Follow Up by clicking or right-clicking on the flag to the right of each message. This right-click menu also includes an option to Create Rule. Rules in Outlook Web Access are created in much the same way as you do in Outlook at the desktop. See our "Getting Productive with Outlook" page which includes instructions for rules.

New Features in Messages When you compose a new message in Outlook Web Access, you'll see two new buttons: Signature: you can insert your signature into an email message. See Options below to see how you create signature(s) and set these to insert automatically into email messages. Spell-check: This feature can save you the embarrassment of sending badly written messages. Click the spell-check button to bring up the spell-check window and follow the screen prompts as you would with Word.

OPTIONS: More Choices and Functions! Click on Options on the main page to change the way that Outlook Web Access functions regardless of which PC you use to access your email. (Only the new options are explained below.)

Page 8 of 11 Click on Edit Signature to create or edit the signature, which is used only in Outlook Web Access. You can specify the font to be used for all messages. You can control the way in which the reading pane functions.

You can specify spell-checking options and select the language for the dictionary.

You can download the latest version of S/MIME Control, which enhances the security of email. You can specify additional filtering rules for JunkEmail. Remember that all email is filtered first by the CCAC Spam Filter. You can specify how read receipts are handled. We suggest that you keep "Block external content in HTML e-mail messages checked. You can change the color scheme in Outlook Web Access.
