Resurrectional Apolytikion Tone Four The women disciples of the Lord learned from the angels The joyous proclamation of the Resurrection, And the abolition of the ancestral sentence; And with pride they announced to the Apostles: Death is despoiled Christ our God has arisen, Bestowing to the world the great mercy. Festal Apolytikion Triumph of the Icons Before Your most pure Image, we bow down, O Good One, entreating You to forgive ours sins, Christ our God, for You willingly ascended the Cross in the flesh to deliver from the enemy those whom You had made. For this we thank You and we cry to You, O Savior: By coming to save the world You have filled all things with joy. Festal Apolytikion The holy martyrs suffered painful tortures for Your sake O Lord; be compelled by what they endured, and heal our every pain we entreat You, as the only One Who loves humanity. Church Hymn (Troparion of Pentecost) Blessed are You O Christ our God Who has shown the fishermen as wise men By sending down Your Holy Spirit upon them And through them, the whole world You drew into Your net O Lover of mankind, glory to You. O Champion General, I, your city, now inscribe to you Triumphant anthems as a token of my gratitude Being rescued from the terrors, O Theotokos Inasmuch as you have the power unassailable from all kinds of perils free me so that unto you, I may cry aloud rejoice O unwedded bride.

EPISTLE READING St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 12:1-10 BRETHREN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you forgotten the exhortation which addresses you as sons? "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage when you are punished by him. For the Lord disciplines him whom he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives." It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Besides this, we have had earthly fathers to discipline us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father. GOSPEL READING The Gospel of John 1:43-51

THE CONFESSION OF FAITH (Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed) I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets. In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.

Sunday Service Schedule and Teams When coming to Church on Sundays, families oftentimes disperse to fulfill commitments and duties. While these commitments and duties are important, Father Bill has set a priority of having families worship God together. To facilitate this, a schedule has been created so that family members who volunteer on Sundays will be assigned to serve on the same Sundays as their family members. SUNDAY OF ORTHODOXY PRAYER SERVICE People: As the Prophets beheld; as the Apostles taught; as the Church received, as the Teachers dogmatized; as the Universe agreed; as Grace illumined; as the Truth revealed; as falsehood passed away; as Wisdom presented; as Christ awarded. Thus we declare; thus we assert; thus we proclaim Christ our true God and honor His Saints, in words, in writings, in thoughts, in sacrifices, in Churches, in holy icons; on the one hand, worshipping and reverencing Christ, as God and Lord, and, on the other hand, honoring and venerating His Saints, as true servants of the same Lord. This is the Faith of the Apostles. This is the Faith of the Fathers. This is the Faith of the Orthodox. This is the Faith which has established the Universe. Therefore, with brotherly love, we praise these preachers of piety, for the glory and honor of their own pious struggles for the Faith, and we say: Eternal be the memory of the champions of Orthodoxy, pious Emperors, most-holy Patriarchs, Hierarchs, Teachers, Martyrs, and Confessors. Chanter: May their memory be eternal. People: Let us entreat God, that we may be instructed and strengthened by the trials and struggles of these Saints, which they endured for the faith, even unto death, and by their teachings, entreating them that we may imitate their godly life unto the end. May we be deemed worthy of obtaining our requests through the mercy and grace of the Great and First Archpriest, Christ our God, through the intercessions of our glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, of the divine Angels, and of all the Saints. Chanter: Who is so great a God as our God? You are the God who does wonders!
