Dear Parents,

WALK TO SCHOOL BREAKFAST It was great to see so many students in attendance to enjoy a free healthy breakfast this morning. This was provided by the City of Greater Bendigo as prize for winning the Walk to School Photo Competition. As you can see by photos on the front page, the breakfast was enjoyed by everyone. STUDENT START UP FORMS FOR 2017 These were sent home with students last week and include your child’s Grade Booklists for 2017 (to be returned to school by 16th December) and Parents Payment Charges forms. Additional forms are available on the school website or from the school office. Grade Booklist orders must be completed and returned by Friday 16th December. CODE RED DAYS As the weather starts to heat up, parents are reminded that our school has been listed on the Bushfire At-Risk Register. Schools, kindergartens and licensed child care centres that have been identified as being high fire risk on the Department’s Bushfire At-Risk Register will close on days determined Code Red by the Emergency Management Commissioner. The final decision to close will be confirmed no later than 1.00pm the day before the planned closure. As soon as the school has this information it will be forwarded to parents by letter, tiqbiz and phone call. Please note no staff will remain on site on a Code Red Day. WHOLE SCHOOL TRANSITION DAY Next Tuesday 6th December will be our whole School Transition day. Current students and new Prep students will spend the day in their 2017 year levels and our Grade 6 students will attend their chosen Secondary College for 2017. Please note Grade 6 students need to make their own way to and from their Secondary College. GRADE STRUCTURE 2017 We are currently experiences a huge growth at the school, with 241 students enrolled at Huntly Primary School for 2017. Due to this growth we have two new classrooms and a new art room being relocated at the school. This will make for some exciting times ahead. We have advertised 4 teaching position and we are currently in the selection process for these jobs. Therefore we cannot within accuracy inform you of teaching staff and grade structure as it is in draft form. Hence on the Whole School Transition Day students will be in their 2017 year levels, not individual grades. I am anticipating being able to make teacher and grade structure announcements in the near future.

END OF TERM 4 Tuesday 20th December is the last day of school for the 2016 year. Assembly will be held at 1.00pm and students will be dismissed at 1.30pm. Outside School Hours Care is available on this day if required, booking can be made at the school office.
