When Sasha Got Swept up the Chimney “This way boss, the North Pole must be around here somewhere.” On the 20th of August Aria school put on a production called “Sasha got swept up the chimney”. Firstly we had to get dressed and put the make up on, and then we got in our stations ready and waiting for Natalie and Jack to start the music. Finally the show started with Owen the chimney sweep. “London, eighteen ninety nine! Victoria on the throne, gawd bless her. There’s a chill in the air and it looks like snow, not a chimney sweeps favourite weather but then what the heck tomorrow’s Christmas Eve and you know what that means. Only the best party of the year, the Mistletoe Ball”. In this year’s production I played Tooth Ache the Tooth fairy’s partner in crime. We were out to stop people believing in Christmas and in the end we got caught by Santa. Holly and Ivy were promoted to the Tooth fairies and we were turned into the two toilet cleaning fairies.

‘‘Welcome one and all to Aria School’s production of “When Sasha Got Swept up the Chimney”. Hi my name is Emma Alcock and I played two elves; their names were Elf S and Elf N.

I’d call Elf S a singing and dancing elf and Elf N is a We hope you all enjoyed our production of “When smart elf. Sasha got swept up the chimney”, and I hope we’ll all see you again next year. My favourite characters were Tapahia Ormsby-Turner By Abby Tucker as Mrs Claus , Abby Tucker as Tooth ache, Keahrey Manson as Santa and Jono Nelson as Rudolph. “This is no life for a couple of fairies, polishing poles and picking up penguin poo!” I was so nervous but I got over it. I think it was a great day. Thank you, thank you very much . It was the Aria School production and everyone was By Emma Alcock most excited! “London 1899” Tom said into the mike. “How dare you Madam I’m a fine figure of a man this is just a bit off swelling due to my allergy”. That’s what I said to Mrs Claus when she said I’ll turn in to a Michelin man. My name is Keahrey Manson and in this year’s production I played Santa Claus and it was the longest part that I’ve done out of all the Aria School productions. My favourite characters were the naughty Tooth Fairies who locked me in the cellar and stole the Naughty and Nice book. I liked them because they made funny jokes and Tooth Ache was goofy and dumb. I can’t wait till next year’s production because I won’t be doing it I’ll be watching my little sister. And I thank you all for watching and some for helping with the make-up. I ho ho hope you all enjoyed Aria Schools production. By Keahrey Manson

“Don’t you dare laugh at me! Santa doesn’t exist! And even if he did why would he bother to visit a bunch of orphans like us? No one cares about us, no one wants us, nothing good ever happens to orphans. That’s just the way it is Milly, so stop dreaming about Christmas wishes because you’re We had finally made it down the road and in to the wasting your time”. hall. “On the 20th August 2015 Aria School had their annual production and the name was” When Sasha Got Swept up the Chimney” and I was Tom. “London 1899,” started Tom in the production. Suddenly the orphans (Sasha Milly and Will) popped out of the flue and splattered on the rooftop. “Cor blimey where did you spring from, are you alright?” I said generally shocked. “We’re on the roof, we must have been swept up the chimney,” Will said. “Alvin stardust” I spluttered. And we were off to the North Pole. I enjoyed this year’s production and hope to do a part next year and I am very proud of everyone that put effort into the production. By Owen Brown “But my dreams are all I have”. The Aria School production takes place in London in 1899 where Sasha is one of the orphans that take a magical sleigh ride to the North Pole where their dreams and wishes come true. On the way they meet weird, wacky, wicked and nasty fairies, chimney sweeps, elves and other strange characters. My favourites actors are Tooth fairy (Kyryn) and Tooth ache (Abby) because they had the funny lines. Harriet (Natalie) her character was so like herself. Everyone was terribly excited and nervous about performing on stage twice in front of 200 people each time we performed. My favourite scenes were when the children jumped out of the chimney stack which was named the Roof Top, the North Pole and the Claus house. My favourite dances were the penguin dance and the fairies’ dance which was really cute. It was an extraordinary and tiring night. There was supper to eat and everybody enjoyed their night and I wish I could take part next year but I sadly am leaving for Piopio College. By Heidi Austin “New Zealand 2015” Aria School did a production and it was called “When Sasha got swept up the chimney”. I was Elf A & chief Elf and Elf B was my deputy. My favourite part was the Santa and Gerty scene. I had a great night. By Marlie Pirika-Sargison
