Curriculum

Kinsmen Children’s Academy has adopted the WEE Learn Curriculum published by LifeWay Christian Resources. The curriculum has a strong literacy emphasis and a wealth of activities for implementation in learning centers. It uses all modes through which children learn (play, senses, repetition, imitation, curiosity, doing, relational, reflective, verbal, visual, and logical). One of our goals as a Christian preschool is to integrate biblical concepts into everything we do.

Chapel

Every Wednesday at 9:30 AM, our 3s and 4s classes attend Chapel with Pastor Mark England and Sara Ray, the Director of Children’s Ministry and Outreach. During their chapel time, the children sing fun Christian songs with hand motions, learn a Bible story, and pray together. Bible stories are reinforced throughout the week in their regular classrooms.

Special Events

The children participate in a variety of special events, including: class parties, Halloween parties, Fall Festival, Thanksgiving Feast, Child-Led Christmas Worship, Dad’s Western Cookout, Easter Egg Hunt, Rodeo Day, Mother’s Day Luncheon, St. Jude Trike-a-thon, Pre-K graduation, and more.

Music

Our music program is led by Mrs. Stevie Berryman, the Director of Handbells at Kinsmen Lutheran Church. Classes are available to all MDO and Pre-K students on Thursdays, and the classes consist of vocal and instrumental lessons.

Field Trips

Our preschool students participate in education and fun field trips. We have traveled by church bus to the pumpkin patch, Christmas tree farm, Barbara Bush Library, Meyer Park, and Petco.

Hot Lunch and Spirit Day

Once a month our students have the opportunity to purchase a hot lunch for a reasonable fee. The lunches are purchased from area restaurants. They may also wear their class spirit shirt on that day. T-shirts are available to purchase at the beginning of the school year.

Kinsmen Children’s Academy – Early Learning 2015-2016

Child’s Name: Parent/Guardian Name: Financial Policies and Responsibilities Statement I agree to pay the full tuition each month for my child to attend Kinsmen Children’s Academy. I understand tuition is due on or before the first scheduled school day of the month that my child attends (September through May), and that there is a $25 charge for all payments received after the 8th of the month. I understand that failure to pay tuition will result in my child being dropped from the program. If a situation arises that inhibits my ability to pay tuition, I will contact the director immediately. Initial: I understand returned checks will be assessed a fee of $25.
