What is OttoMobile?

OttoMobile™ is an application for GPS-enabled iPhone® smartphones and is designed to be used as a driving companion to help drivers. Two versions available for download to the iPhone: • • •

OttoMobile Lite and OttoMobile Pro. The Pro version includes paid map subscriptions and location tracking heartbeat functionality. OttoMobile Lite uses free Otto Maps. The free versions allow full use of Alerts and Heartbeat for the first 7 kilometres driven per day. -

OttoHeartbeat real-time location tracking that sends your location to a secure website where your family and friends can keep track of your whereabouts (with data plan and where cell phone coverage is available).

Main Dashboard Display- Alert Information Screen Speed Limit Display - where coverage map is available, speed limit displayed. - Blank if no coverage map is available.

Current Speed Display - GPS based speed in km/hr (metric) or mph (imperial) Direction - Compass heading displayed: N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW.

Speed Bar Display - Green = at or below speed limit. - Yellow = within speed limit variance set by user. - Red = exceeding speed limit and speed variance set by user.

Trip Type - Select trip type as Personal or Business and application will record each trip type separately. Trip Distance - Distance traveled during current trip in either miles (imperial) or kilometres (metric). Main Dashboard Display myOtto Tab – My Account My Account - Account set up for use of the Heartbeat and Map purchase/update functionality. -This is a different account from the iPhone AppStore account login. - Username entered as a valid email address. - Password is private and can only be set by the user. - If you forget your password, go to http://www.myottomobile.com/passwordreset to reset your password. - Signing out of your account will remove all maps – home map and map purchases (OMPro only). - You can sign in with your account on another iPhone and all maps associated with your account will be downloaded to the new device (OMPro only). -Map purchase includes one year of map updates. - Account set up with OMLite version used for vehicle© location-Heartbeat functionality only. Main Dashboard Display myOtto Tab – My Heartbeat My Heartbeat - Real-time location tracking that sends your location to a secure website, where your family and friends can keep track of your whereabouts (with data plan and where cell phone coverage is available). - The most recent 10 locations are stored per user account. -Enable/Disable Heartbeat functionality with “ON”/”Off” switch. - Set the time interval between locations: - 1 min, 2 mins 3 mins, 5 mins., 10 mins., 15 mins., or 20 mins. - When the heartbeat is enabled “ON”, the application will generate a secure and unique URL to access the position information. - User can copy or email the URL for distribution to others. - User can “reset” the URL at any time – all previous location information will be © PERSENTECH Inc. Main Dashboard Display General Configuration General Configuration - GPS component can be turned “ON” or “OFF” - Default is “ON” - Note: in OS4 release with support for background applications, device will disable GPS after userselectable time – to conserve battery power when used by GPS component. - Alerts can be turned “ON” or “OFF” - Default in “ON” - Logging can be turned “ON” or “OFF” - Default is “ON” - Speed tolerance in km/hr or mph can be set for the speeding alert - Will notify user of speeding when the posted speed limit is exceed by this tolerance setting. - Default speed limit setting value can be set when the device is outside a coverage map (i.e. no speed limits defined). - Will notify user of speeding when this default speed limit isInc.exceeded. © PERSENTECH All rights reserved.

Main Dashboard Display Application Control Settings-1 Settings - Units can be set to “Metric” or “Imperial” - Used for trip display information and trip data information. The dashboard will display vehicle speed and speed limit information in km/hr or mph automatically based on location sensing logic. - Disable GPS in iOS 4 with multi-tasking operation only. - Will turn off GPS component after set interval if no movement is detected – battery conserving functionality. - Trip logging category can be “Personal” or “Business” - Default in “Personal” - Speeding alert settings (within a coverage map area) - Speed Warning based on “percentage” of posted speed limit or based on a specific km/hr or mph setting. - Default speed limit setting can also be set here when device is outside a coverage area. - Idling/no movement alert - Will notify user of no motion after the time period set by the user: 2.5 minutes, 5 minutes or 10 minutes. © PERSENTECH Inc. Because of the uncertainty associated with such data, it is the user’s responsibility to use this software prudently and to follow the posted signs at all times. ƒ OttoMobile™ is intended to be used only as a driving aid, designed to promote safe driving by complementing existing roadway signage. PERSENTECH's database of municipalities and road network attributes is an important element in the provisioning of coverage maps, the map update service, and in the integrity of the OttoMobile application for the iPhone device operation. ƒ PERSENTECH develops and maintains the database with the available speed zone and road network infrastructure information that is published. A combination of governmental and private data sources is used and we solicit our user-base for their input, allowing us to offer an on-going subscription service within each municipality, as well as to offer services including all municipal coverage areas. ƒ The areas excluded from the coverage maps include the following: Back lanes; parking lots; private roadways and driveways and any roads located on private property; cemeteries; golf courses; Provincial, State, Federal and Municipal parks; campgrounds; public places including but not limited to amusement parks, racetracks, zoos, arenas, stadiums, museums, hospitals, casinos, swimming pools, ice rinks; Government property including but not limited to military bases, airports, mints, post offices, historic sites, disposal yards; railway yards, stations, and shops; industrial parks; highway entrance & exit ramps; construction zones; any temporary speed limit restrictions (orange speed limit signs); any recommended reduced speed areas User Instructions- 08201003 © PERSENTECH Inc. It is the user’s responsibility to use the OttoMobile application prudently. The application is intended to be used only as a driving aid and must not be used for any purpose requiring precise measurement of speed, direction, distance, location, or topography. The GPS system is operated by the United States Government, which is solely responsible for its accuracy and maintenance. The system is subject to changes that could affect the accuracy and performance of all GPS equipment. Although the iPhone includes a GPS receiver, GPS position and speed information can be incorrect or misinterpreted and, therefore, the information presented within the OttoMobile application will be incorrect. USE THE OTTOMOBILE™ APPLICATION ON THE IPHONE DEVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. WHEN IN ACTUAL USE, CAREFULLY COMPARE INDICATIONS FROM THE DEVICE WITH EXISITNG ROADWAY SIGNAGE AND TO ANY OTHER AVAILABLE SOURCES. FOR SAFETY, ALWAYS RESOLVE ANY DISCREPANCIES BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE USE OF THE DEVICE AND APPLICATION FOR INDICATION OF SPEED LIMIT DATA AND OTHER MAP DATA POINTS. In no event shall PERSENTECH be liable for any fine, penalty, punishment, or any notice of intended prosecution or photo enforcement summonses issued to anyone using the OttoMobile application in respect of any speeding violation, red light violation, or other traffic violation. OttoMobile users remain responsible for observing all relevant laws and codes of safe driving, and the consequences of their driving behaviour.

IMPORTANT CAUTION – LEGAL NOTIFICATION -4 ƒ

Furthermore, PERSENTECH cannot be responsible in any manner for any accessory equipment that are attached to or used in connection with the iPhone device and PERSENTECH cannot be responsible for any damage to the iPhone device resulting from the use of the OttoMobile™ application. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the iPhone device is properly mounted and that a proper power source is used to maintain operation while using the application.

The user also agrees that all airtime charges are their responsibility. Some features of the OttoMobile application require network data (such as downloading maps, sending heartbeats, and viewing trip traces) and may be subject to airtime charges by your wireless provider. Please be aware of these potential charges.

OttoMobile can run in the background on compatible devices running iOS 4. Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.

ƒ

Note: OttoMobile can automatically detect when it's no longer in use and turn off the GPS to conserve battery life. In the iOS4 version, there is a setting that allows the user to define the time interval after which the GPS will be turned off.
