About OTC Foundation The Osteosynthesis and Trauma Care (OTC) Foundation was established in 2007 as an international non-profit organization based in Switzerland. The mission is to advance osteosynthesis and trauma care through education and research, and to bring surgeons from different countries and specialty backgrounds together to exchange experiences. The OTC Foundation organizes educational events, convenes scientific symposia, offers fellowships, and promotes research for a worldwide membership of health care professionals. The OTC Foundation is committed to intellectual independence, evidence-based medicine, and the debate of scientific principles. We leverage human and financial resources to drive innovation and support the development of the next generation of health care professionals. OTC Foundation’s Guiding Principles:
Development of young health care professionals. Global membership, direct or through chapters in affiliated countries. Intellectual independence. Objective use of resources and transparent governance.
Key Elements of the OTC Foundation’s Programs: Education: To support teaching and training in national OTC/AIOD chapters that meets clearly set educational objectives and develops professional skills through different activities: Basic and advanced surgeon training courses. Nurses operating staff courses. Educational fellowships. Leadership Forums. Research: To foster evidence-based research that increases knowledge to solve clinical problems and improve orthopedic trauma care through: Clinical and pre-clinical research courses. Grants for translational research studies. Scientific workshops on “hot topics” in research. Knowledge dissemination through research methodology publications.

Leadership Forum Description Each year the OTC Foundation brings together a faculty of key opinion leaders and international experts to share and debate methods, experiences, and opinions on advanced concepts and innovative solutions in traumatology. The focus this year is on: Update on Fracture Treatment: Meet the Experts. The lectures, discussions, and the workshops are a unique opportunity for young surgeons to expand their knowledge and to get first hand advice from senior surgeons coming from a variety of countries and representing different specializations.
