25 paintings dedicated to Tunisia « First and foremost, Orientalists were painters from the West in love with the East, the name then came to include local painters. All were attempting to convey in paint the springtime beauty of the landscapes, the serenity of the setting sun, the veiled women (…) as we can see in this collection of Tunisian painter » Reminds Nine Moati, novelist and author of « Belles de Tunis » in the preface for the Tunisian paintings in the sale catalogue. This chapter includes 25 paintings, coming from 3 private collections. Paintings by Albert Aublet (2), Italo Nunès-Vais (2), Max Moreau (2), Maurice Bismouth (1) and Yahia Turki (2), born in Istanbul and participated in « Ecole de Tunis », Mosès Levy (2), who took part in the famous « groupe des 4 » and Aly Ben Salem.
