Lighting of the Advent Wreath - The Love Candle

(8:30) Avery Ginn (11:00) Margaret and Elizabeth Bazemore The greatest gift we receive and the greatest gift we give is love. We love because God first loved us. We receive the radical acceptance of God’s love, and we proclaim and share God’s love with others. We light this candle as a sign of the love of Christ.

Congregational Response Love came down at Christmas, Love all lovely, Love divine; Love was born at Christmas; star and angels gave the sign. A Morning Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer Rev. Susan Allen Grady Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Sacrament of Holy Baptism (11:00)

Dr. Ethridge Dr. Amy Morgan

Quinn Frances Manget, daughter of Kristin and Will Manget Congregational Pledge With God’s help, we will so order our lives after the example of Christ, that Quinn, surrounded by steadfast love, may be established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal. God Claims You TFWS 2249 Quinn, Quinn, God claims you, God helps you, protects you, and loves you, too. We this day do all agree a child of God you’ll always be. OAK GROVE NEWS December 18, 2016

Budd Terrace Honored One of our United Methodist affiliated mission agencies, Budd Terrace at Wesley Woods, has been named in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes 2016 – 2017 in the United States. In addition to CMS’s 5-STAR Rating process, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes’ ratings incorporate more data about medical quality, rehabilitation therapy, and performance over time. As a trusted authority, U.S. News & World Report began 26 years ago with their groundbreaking Best Hospitals rankings. Now, U.S. News & World Report’s “Best” designations are widely recognized by both, consumers and medical professionals, as the “Gold Standard” for quality healthcare in the United States. Budd Terrace is beginning its fifth consecutive year as a 5-STAR rated facility by CMS, which places Budd Terrace in the top 20% of skilled nursing facilities in the United States under CMS’s criteria; likewise, it continues to rate for the fourth consecutive year, as one of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes for 2016 – 2017, rating Budd Terrace in the top 4.5% of all skilled nursing facilities in the United States.

The Memory Café is an opportunity for caregivers and anyone experiencing memory loss to get together for a time of socializing and fellowship. Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to dress casually and leave as needed. We meet in the new Church Building in Room 101. Please enter through the Church portico at the back of the building.
