services One Location, Multiple Services… Our manufacturing process involves casting and compression molding of K•Prene® urethane. This means Acrotech can produce parts cost-effectively, compared to machining or injection molding. Acrotech’s stocked products include several industry-specific parts in addition to sheets, round rods, bars, Versa Rolls™, several types of bumpers and much more. These items are stocked in 6 different durometers/hardnesses in a variety of sizes. We also offer custom molding of K•Prene® urethane; including mold construction, production of metal inserts and secondary machining.

The casting process of polyurethane allows Acrotech to cost-effectively produce part volumes ranging from one to one hundred thousand, and can range in size from less than a cubic inch to over 400 pounds! Andy Oliver – President Acrotech, Inc

Molds are designed and produced in-house allowing us to control every detail.

Shafts and hubs up to 8 feet long can be recycled by removing worn-out material and recovering with quality K•Prene® urethane.

Any size or shape insert can be produced by our state-ofthe-art machine shop.

Specialty Processing– Different durometers can be bonded together.

Our machine shop offers the capabilities for secondary machining to tight tolerances and profiling.

Several K•Prene® formulations are FDA Approved for use in food processing and medical industry applications.

K•Prene® polyurethane can be cast onto the metal inserts and achieve excellent adhesion.

For less demanding needs - AcroKast® offers the rigidity of a structural plastic and the cost-effectiveness of liquid casting.

Custom Molding Need a new part? Want to improve an existing part? Need one part for maintenance? Need one thousand parts for production? From conception to completion, Acrotech Inc. can help with design considerations, material formulation, secondary operations and mold design and manufacture! Because of low mold costs compared to other molding procedures, custom molding with K•Prene® can be very cost effective for prototype through production. The molds are generally machined from steel or aluminum, depending on the application, or can even be cast from a flexible mold material using an existing part as a master.

custom A long-time customer’s experience with Acrotech Inc.

This check valve ball and valve seat are made in several sizes to control flow in pump applications. Tremendous resistance to abrasion is required, along with the ability to withstand significant pressure. K•Prene® has surpassed the stainless steel components previously used!

“As a world leader in the manufacturing of solid pumping systems, it is critical for V-Ram to have the best materials in our systems. We have found that K•Prene® urethane balls and valve seats will easily handle the most severe abrasion requirements we encounter! Thanks for your part in helping V-Ram establish and maintain the industry standards.” Sincerely, David Olson – President, V-Ram Solids

Custom Machining Capabilities To Your Specs! Acrotech’s modern equipment capabilities offer custom machining from start to finish of many materials such as: Cold Finish and Hot Rolled Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Tool Steel, Alloy Steel, and Composites such as Delrin, UHMW, Acetal etc.

What is K•Prene®? K•Prene® is the trade name for the various grades of urethane elastomers formulated specifically by Acrotech. The K•Prene® formulations were designed to “fill the gaps” between rubbers with characteristic resilience and structural plastics with characteristic hardness. The result is a functional toughness matched by no other available material in either natural or man-made form. K•Prene® urethane elastomers have higher oil and solvent resistance and better thermal stability than most general purpose rubbers and plastics. They have greater abrasion and tear resistance in combination with increased load bearing capacity than do the neoprene or natural rubbers. Their extensibility and impact strength are greater than those of most plastics materials.

Stocked Inventory Dimension Tolerances These tolerances cover all stocked products, except where noted. Please advise factory if closer tolerance is required.
