Welcome to the 14th North Sea OFFSHORE CRANES & LIFTING Conference The Norwegian Society of Lifting Technology (NSLT) together with the Offshore Mechanical Handling Equipment Committee (OMHEC) are again proud to sponsor this year’s North Sea Offshore Cranes & Lifting Conference. Every year the conference alternates between the “oil capitals” of Stavanger in Norway and Aberdeen in Scotland - these are the most important places of business for the North Sea oil and gas industry and home to regulators, the major duty holders, oil and gas contractors and service companies etc. During the conference, delegates will have the chance to meet and share their experiences with experts and industry leaders from the offshore crane and lifting

operations environment. Also this year there is a range of lectures covering such diverse subjects as what’s new in offshore cranes and lifting technology, subsea and heavy lifting, crane standardisation and regulatory and industry safety initiatives. Delegates will have ample opportunity to enter into discussions with the lecturers and spend time interacting with the companies demonstrating their goods and services in the exhibition area.

The Conference will have focus on • Industry and regulatory initiatives safety initiatives • Application of crane design standards • Lifting operations • Human factors and training • Maintenance and inspection • Materials handling • Subsea lifting • Heavy lifting

The Offshore Mechanical Handling Equipment Committee OMHEC OMHEC is comprised of members from the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands all of whom are involved with the safety of lifting equipment and lifting operations offshore. OMHEC is also the adviser for the North Sea Offshore Authorities Forum (NSOAF) in matters related to lifting offshore, formally stated in an agreement between the two parties and signed in the spring of 2006. Members represent regulatory authorities, such as from the Danish Energy Agency, the Netherlands State Supervision of Mines, the Petroleum Safety Authority, Norway and the UK Health and Safety Executive.
