Fairchild Tropical Gardens
Professional airboat guides will take you on a personalized, educational airboat tour covering approximately nine miles of this unique environment. We first go into the vast open saw grass where you will see why the Everglades are called the “River of Grass!” You will travel by airboat through a Hardwood Hammock into the Everglades National Park, stopping at alligator holes and seeing the abundance of everglades wildlife. The Everglades are a truly unique and vibrant environment, which you can only experience first hand! Approximately 1 hour from the resort.
One of the world’s pre-eminent botanical gardens, Fairchild Tropical Gardens boasts extensive collections of palms, cycads and other tropical plants. Guided tours, programs in education, conservation and horticulture are offered. Approximately 1 hour from the resort.
Boomers Boomers offers miniature golf, bumper boats, game room, go karts, batting cages, rock wall and a rookie track. Approximately 25 minutes from the resort.
John Pennekamp Park — Key Largo John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park is the nation’s first Underwater park. Formed in the 1960’s, Pennekamp Park represents 100 square miles of mangrove shoreline, grass flats and of course our famous coral reef. Adjacent to Pennekamp is the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary. There are several lovely man-made swimming areas here in Key Largo, in both private and public locations. Of course there are all sorts of water sports activities, such as diving, snorkeling, fishing, boating, etc. Approximately 75 minutes from the resort.
Everglades Safari Park Meander through dense foliage or catch a panoramic view of the area from the observation platform in the Jungle Trail. Enjoy the alligator wild life show, take an airboat ride, visit the gift shop or restaurant and try their gator nuggets. Approximately 1 hour from the resort.
Butterfly World Butterfly World is a fantastic place for children, with educational experiences that are fun for kids of all ages. Whether it’s the always popular Bug Museum highlighting some of the insect world’s most amazing and incredible creatures — including Asian cockroaches as big as your hand — or just the experience of walking among butterflies on the wing, there are many things to keep your kids interested and happy while they are here. Jungle Island Kids and adults alike can explore exotic animal and plant attractions and even see animals perform in the many shows offered throughout the day.
