11 RECOMMENDATIONS 18. (a) The Commanding Officer, 21 Rashtriya Rifles (GUARDS) has taken a noble step by sponsoring the college students of Handwara –J&K under Op Sadbhavna because the value of this certificate from a national Institute i.e, JIM & WS is very much. (b) Local youth of the state should be given more guidance and motivation in the form of adventure activities, trekking trips and environmental camps under Op Sadbhavna. It not only creates environmental awareness among them but also helps them in their career and profession. (c) It is a humble submission that the General Officer Commanding of various forces may ensure that similar steps are taken in their area of responsibility under Op Sadbhavna so that the local youth gets benefited and this will be appreciated in J&K State as well as nationally. (d)

The state of J&K is unique in its sense of topography, biodiversity, culture

and language. The youth of the state can only realize the full potential of the region (Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh) through participation in adventure activities. (e)

Such adventure courses under Op Sadbhavna provide more exposure to the

participants which would encourage them to explore more options in adventure for employment for a better future and development of heart, mind and character would help them to work in a constructive direction. (f) It is recommended that more local youth be sent to JIM & WS under Op Sadbhavna for

other adventure activities like Basic, Advance Mountaineering, Mountain

Adventure, Mountain rescue courses, Basic, Intermediate and Advance skiing courses in winters and paragliding courses for their better future. A copy of Course Programme for the 2016- 17 is attached as Appendix “D”. FEEDBACK 19.

13 CONCLUSION 21.

During the Adventure camp the training was imparted to make all the

participants confident of living in Mountainous terrain, adjust with difficulties faced during their stay away from home and to accept and adapt with different cultures. Cultural exchange through adventure helped the participants in development of personality, sportsmanship and character. They were also made aware of the environmental changes and its adverse effects in future and the steps to be taken to counter the issue. The performance of the participants validates the fact that desired standards of exposure and training in mountain techniques were achieved.
