OBJECTIVES This exciting educational program is designed to provide you with the latest information on the management of patients with chronic lung disease and how to integrate it with pulmonary rehabilitation . Who should attend: Physicians, Nurses, Respiratory Care Practitioners, Physical Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, and other healthcare professionals associated with Pulmonary Rehabilitation Upon completion, attendees will be able to: 1. Identify safe and effective exercises for the Pulmonary Rehabilitation patient. 2. Understand the benefits of early intervention and Pulmonary Rehab for the COPD patient. 3. Integrate new COPD management tools into Pulmonary Rehabilitation. 4. Understand the effects of sleep disorders on the COPD patient. 5. Identify Pulmonary Rehabilitation patients who may benefit from Speech Therapy services. 6. State 2 benefits of Pulmonary Rehabilitation for patients with lung cancer. 7. Recognize how Pulmonary Rehabilitation exercise benefits the ILD patient. 8. Understand the potential of the electronic cigarette as an adjunct in smoking cessation. 9. Identify depression and anxiety in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation patient. 10. State the role of palliative care in Pulmonary Rehabilitation. 11. Recognize the role of nutritional supplements in the Chronic Asthmatic patient. 12. Identify strategies to help people to stop smoking.
