FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK I would like to thank our parent volunteers, Home and School officers, and our Faculty/Staff for their tremendous help in recent school events. We held our first October Open House for Pre-School and Kindergarten on October 20th. Many thanks to Mrs. Tiffany Wallace, Mrs. Joanna Copenhaver, Ms. Shea McGlynn and others who provided tours and refreshments to potential students and their parents. Boosterthon was quite successful. Besides the fun prizes and athletic run, we exceeded our financial goal. More to come on that , but we will be able to purchase STREAM/STEM and P.E. equipment, thanks to the efforts of our team, mainly Mrs. Santana, Mrs. Gamboa, and Mrs. Wallace. What a nice Fall Festival! Thanks to our Chair, Mrs. Lisa Moore, and support from our H&S officers, the festival was a “howling” success. The event was well-attended, and it looked like the children really enjoyed it. Thanks to our Counselor, Jane Kynoch, Red Ribbon Week was a success. Sergeant Davis was quite effective in addressing our older students about the dangers of drug abuse. Our 5th Grade teachers led us in a candlelight Rosary on October 26th. We honored First Responders on October 28th at the 8:30 Mass with a nice reception/program following. Almost two dozen police officers, fire fighters, and dispatchers attended. Our students in the Red, White and Blue Club served as hosts. The 3rd Grade and Middle School Choir gave some memorable performances. Many thanks to Mrs. Copenhaver, Ms. McGlynn, Officer Zapp, Officer Wannall, Mrs. Crews, Mrs. Saxon, Mrs. Blythe and others for refreshments and entertainment. Eighth Grade student, Mason Tarmey, served as Master of Ceremonies. There were many other events that have occurred, like the All Saints Mass, Middle School Dance, and Talent Show, just as examples. We are so thankful to all who make our school such a vibrant community! ~Tommy Bridges

SCIENCE FAIR JUDGES NEEDED This year's school Science Fair will be held Wednesday, December 7th in the Parish Hall. Judges are needed to help evaluate the students' projects. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Claudia Arakelian at [email protected]. Please note that if you are a 7th Grade parent, you may not volunteer to be a judge. Thank you.

NURSE’S NOTES The children are hungry! Are you packing enough lunch for your child? Our children are growing, learning and playing HARD! If you buy your child lunch from the school lunch program, please consider sending in additional items to help round out the lunch. Also, students from Pre-K3 through Grade 5 have morning snack, so an additional food item should be included for snack time unless your child is in a community-snack classroom. A healthy lunch should include some type of entrée with protein (peanut butter/jelly or ham/cheese), a piece of fruit or veggie, a cheese stick or salty snack, a small treat (cookie) and a drink, preferably water. We have begun to notice that the children are getting tired and cranky in the afternoons, and we are wondering if it is because they are hungry! Please encourage your children to bring home the food they are NOT eating so you have an idea of what is actually being eaten. ~ Nurse Greif
