November 2008 Dear Notre Dame High School Applicant, In an effort to make a Catholic high school education possible for more Catholic students, Notre Dame is making fifteen $1,000 scholarships available to our eighth grade parish applicants. This scholarship will be awarded based on financial need, leadership and academic achievement. To be eligible for the Academic-Leadership Grants, students must be active members of their Catholic parish or school, they must send in a completed application and essay and two recommendations, one from their principal or eighth grade teacher and one from their pastor or parish priest. Students must also take the entrance exam at Notre Dame on Saturday, January 31, 2009. Appointments will then be scheduled for an interview with the principal. This scholarship is intended to help deserving Catholic students who would not be able to afford a Notre Dame education and who have achieved in the areas of academics and leadership. This grant will be renewable each year based on achievement. In addition, the family may also qualify for assistance through the financial aid program. Thank you,
