A Mother’s Day Blessing "Blessed be all mothers Who have come into our lives Whose kindness, care and loving Remain with us to guide. Your inspiration in us Made us strive in every way Especially to remember Helping others makes our day. Mothers, this little tribute

VIRTUE FOR MAY “INTEGRITY” Integrity is following the example of Jesus, by standing firm for what we believe, even when it is hard. A person of integrity follows his or her conscience, making choices which are loving and life giving. If it is not right, do not do it. If it is not true, do not say it. ...Marcus Aurelius Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

(Philippians 4.8)

Flows directly from my heart You are so loved and cherished Invaluable, one and all, you are. Dear God, “I praise You for showing me what is right and wrong through the example and teachings of Jesus, and the Church. Form my conscience in the truth, so that I can make choices that are loving and good, even when it is hard. Give me courage to stand up for what I believe, and work for justice in all circumstances. Help me to walk in the Spirit of Your Son, who always lived life with integrity.” Amen

Students organized a number of fundraising projects including bottle drives, coin drives at Zehrs, selling Rafki bracelets , bake sales, selling “bricks” for the school, asking parents to donate instead of giving staff Christmas gifts, holding a haunted house and snack and freezie sales at various school and family events. “We have a dedicated group of students who have given up countless hours of recesses and weekends in order to achieve this goal” says Mrs. Ferguson, one of the group’s coordinators. NOTICE TO PARENTS - STUDENTS GOING OUT FOR LUNCH At this time of year, some students bring notes from home giving them permission to go out for lunch. Please be advised that the school will only grant permission if a parent picks up and drops off their child at school. Safety for your child is our number one concern and we need to know that your child is supervised during their lunch time when they are off school property. Also, students will not be permitted to “order in” food, i.e pizza/subs and have it delivered to the school. We kindly ask that parents deliver such items to the school prior to our 11:45 am lunch break. We appreciate your understanding. Catholic Education Week
