JOIN is a private, non-profit job training agency designed to help individuals gain or improve the skills needed for today’s local labor market JOIN provides a wide range of services in eight branch offices across Northern Nevada: Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, ProNet, Reno and Winnemucca

 Under the administrative direction of JOIN Inc.'s Board of Directors, Executive Director and staff members, JOIN, Inc. continuously works towards achieving JOIN Inc.'s organizational mission:

“JOIN, Inc. will be the premier workforce provider in northern Nevada by enhancing the capacity, employability, self-sufficiency and viability of the individuals, families and communities we serve by involving all our partners in the products and process of delivering integrated, quality workforce development services.”

JOIN's administrative staff is centralized in Reno. The Executive Director is assisted in the administration of JOIN, Inc. by staff responsible for finances, personnel and human resources, program quality control and central records. The Board of Directors, with representatives from across Northern Nevada, provides general direction for the organization through the Executive Director. Geographic diversity on the Board assures the needs of each community receive equal attention.

•ProNet, headquartered in Reno, is a service tailored to returning individuals in professional, management and technical fields to today’s labor market

Adult Diploma/GED preparation classes funded by the Humboldt County School District in Winnemucca allow individuals who have dropped out of high school to accumulate the necessary credits and skills to achieve their diploma or an equivalency.

A Displaced Homemaker grant allows JOIN to focus services on those individuals who have lost their primary means of support through divorce, death, separation or other events

has provided individual, personalized employment preparation services and customized career planning to the residents of Washoe County area for over 30 years. Services are designed to help individuals gain the skills they need to become more employable or to design a new career path using the skills they have. JOIN focuses on connecting clients with occupation-specific training offered in the Reno area and in demand by local employers. A variety of job preparation workshops are offered at the JOIN office. Staff also can link individuals who need to complete secondary education or to brush-up existing academic skills to resources that meet their needs. JOIN services are available at no cost to most people, and when an individual's needs exceed our resources, we help them find other additional assistance.

Job Opportunities in Nevada

•JOIN, Inc., also known as Job Opportunities in Nevada, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency, incorporated in June of 1996. JOIN is the successor of Northern Nevada Job Training Agency (1972 – 1984), and JOIN (1985 – 1999). JOIN has provided employment and training programs in each of the thirteen northern Nevada counties. Branch offices are currently located in Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, Reno and Winnemucca, with the Administrative Office located in Reno. Several offices serve multiple counties.

In 1991 JOIN developed ProNet an organization that serves unemployed professionals ProNet provides both a support network and an opportunity to update occupational skills to individuals in professional, management and technical occupations





The organization has been a main service provider and grant recipient of federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding for employment and training programs for Nevadaworks, the northern Nevada Workforce Investment Board.

JOIN also contracts with Department of Health and Human Services agencies, the Juvenile Justice Commission, the Carson City Community Council on Youth, Reno Justice Court and the Humboldt County School District.



JOIN has used funds to link employers, community organizations and educational institutions and to help companies and communities meet employment needs.



JOIN's client population includes long-term unemployed individuals, the disabled, high school dropouts, college graduates, veterans, lowincome adults and youth, laid-off workers, and Welfare recipients.
