NOODLE BOX BEGINNINGS In 1996, two young Aussies with a thirst for soy sauce and a hunger for authentic Asian noodles created Noodle Box. After taking a trip around the globe Josh James and David Milne became addicted to the delicious flavours and fresh quality of South East Asia’s street food. Impressed by the simple packaging concept the two entrepreneurs returned to Australia ready to put noodles in a box. The kitchen theatre of our noodle chefs is paramount to the Noodle Box experience. This provides an honest and open approach to the preparation of our fresh and healthy meals and reinforces our Asian influence. Guests with a passion for food marvel at watching the noodle chefs in action. This has been a popular ingredient contributing to the success of Noodle Box that our guests have always enjoyed.

The original Noodle Box created a strong community vibe as the locals were drawn to the aromas, flavours and friendly atmosphere that radiated from the passion that Josh and Dave poured into their business. Each restaurant is designed to mimic the original restaurant to allow you to produce your own winning local atmosphere. Having Multicultural staff and owners is one of the key foundation stones for our restaurants success.

All our restaurants are fitted out with stainless steel kitchens and bench tops to achieve a fresh and clean look. This ensures that your restaurant not only looks good, but also maintains the highest health and safety standards.

Natural timber, exposed chip board, raw concrete, recycled timber look palings & brick walls - these materials help to create an environment that feels like it has been there for a long time and therefore authentic & original. Juxtaposed against these raw materials are stainless steel, black tile, red metal screens, stenciled graphics and pendants that add an urban edge to the space.

During the restaurant building process, Noodle Box will provide an experienced Development Manager to be the point of contact between you, your builder and the project manager. Our Development Manager will perform the following functions: • Liaison on the proposed design plans and layout of the restaurant. • Complete a final hand over Inspection Checklist with the builders and you to ensure all aspects of the job conform to Noodle Box’s high build standards. • Assist you where necessary to achieve timelines and budgets.

TRAINING: NOODLE COOKS

Depending on your requirements the initial Noodle Box Training Program is conducted over 2-4 weeks at the Franchise Support Centre, Abbotsford VIC.

All Noodle Box cooks are the real deal. The Noodle Cooks are hand selected and recruited for their skills with the wok. Watching the Noodle Cooks expertly toss woks full of fresh ingredients is an integral part of the Noodle Box theatre and experience in restaurant.

Safe food handling procedures and systems Goods receivable and stock ordering Food preparation Cleaning Workplace health and safety Meal portioning guidelines and cooking skills Point of sale systems Cash handling Profit and loss monitoring HR procedures and Team Management Guest service

Ongoing training is conducted during group Franchise Partner sessions and via our online University training platform, “Noodle-U”.

RESTAURANT: STARTER KIT As part of the restaurant hand over, we provide you with your own starter kit. This is a comprehensive guide to both opening your restaurant, and ongoing operations. Information in the guide includes information such as: • Instruction on how you apply for relevant permits and licences. • A guide to recruitment, staffing guidelines and rostering. • A marketing starter kit and guide to marketing your restaurant. • Information on restaurant operations from opening your restaurant, to training, cash register floats, stock taking, ordering systems, customer service training and operating hours.

SYSTEMS, SERVICES & SUPPORT RESTAURANT: OPERATIONAL SUPPORT We provide business support managers who are the interface between you and the Franchise Support Centre to help you get the best out of your business. Your BSM will also support you in the following ways: • Conduct weekly phone catch ups. • Report your results of our mystery shopping program. • Evaluation of your business every 6 weeks • Formal business analysis every quarter along with profitability monitoring. • Online training through our online University. • Conduct regular Franchise Partner networking meetings. • Keep you abreast of Research and Development findings.

MARKETING Noodle Box’s dedicated marketing team are experienced in national campaign execution as well as proven local area marketing initiatives through a variety of media channels.

As a Franchise Partner, you will be offered full marketing support with national campaigns, new product development and innovation and social media management. Along with this you have access to an extensive set of local marketing tools as well as assistance with developing specific local marketing plans for your restaurant.

RESTAURANT: OPERATIONS MANUAL Once you have become a Noodle Box partner you get access to the Noodle Box intranet. The Noodle Box operational manual can be accessed online through the intranet and is the most comprehensive guide on Noodle Box’s operational system. The manual provides you with all the information you need to run your Noodle Box restaurant.

BRANDED PRODUCTS & SUPPLY CHAIN We have perfected our own exclusive Asian flavours sauce recipes over the past 17 years. We have a range of branded products and merchandise that are reliably and regularly distributed to your restaurant through our National network of suppliers.

10 STEP APPLICATION PROCESS 1. INFORMATION

6. BUSINESS PLAN

Following you reading this information pack you will be asked to complete our Information Request Form so we may initially access your suitability in becoming a Noodle Box Franchise Partner. You will also be required to sign a Deed of Confidentiality.

You will be provided with a Noodle Box Business Plan template and will be required to complete a detailed plan on how you will manage, grow, market and maximise every opportunity within your Noodle Box Franchise. You will also provide us with a 5 year cashflow forecast.

2. FINANCIAL DATA

7. PANEL INTERVIEW & INDUCTION DAY

You will be provided with some financial information relating to the Noodle Box Franchise System so you can begin to plan and start your own due diligence.

3. DISCOVERY DAY We will arrange for you to complete a typical shift in a busy Noodle Box restaurant with an experienced Franchise Partner/Manager.

4. MEETING You will meet with our Franchise Development Manger and be provided with our Disclosure Document including a list of existing restaurants and the names of our Franchise Partners. You will also be required to complete a Noodle Box Self- Assessment document.

5. BSM INTERVIEW One of our experienced Business Support Managers will meet with you to assess your Operational abilities.

Following all due diligence you will attend our Franchise Support Centre in Abbotsford, Melbourne for your formal Panel Interview. If you are successful you be inducted as a Franchise Partner within the Noodle Box system. You will be required at this stage to pay your deposit of $11,000.

8. TRAINING You will commence your 17 day intensive training program and all documents will be executed and returned.

9. RESTAURANT BUILD If required, you may be purchasing a previously completed restaurant.

10. OPENING DAY Settlement and Handover , your very own Noodle Box restaurant opens and you are now part of the Noodle Box Team.
