The Sinai, located between Asia and Africa - two important parts of the ancient world acted as a land bridge between them and left a significant mark on the history of the area. The desert itself is probably one of the most attractive walking areas in the world. The vast open spaces, ever changing scenery and extraordinary colours coupled with an abundance of clean fresh air makes this a unique experience which is bound to leave the traveller with everlasting impressions.

Day 3 - Transfer Mount Sinai - Rock of Inscriptions

Trek to Ein Hudra - Ein Om Achmad We transfer about 1 hour to the desert to start the desert section of this trek. Our route virtually passes over part of the 40 year trek taken by Moses some 3000 years ago. We set off through the area of the Nawamis, one of the burial sites of the Children of Israel, & the Rock of Inscriptions as we head towards the stunning White Canyon. High lime content in the rock has resulted in this incredibly beautiful white landscape. As we exit the Canyon we will be greeted by the refreshing sight of the Ein Khudra, meaning Green Oasis. We continue trekking across partly sandy, partly mountainous terrain. This evening we camp

near to Ein Om Achmad, the largest oasis in southern Sinai and home to hundreds of date trees. where we camp in the wilderness in Bedouin tents. Overnight: Camp. 10 - 11 hours
