Note from the Editor: Lions, this edition of CAT TRACKS is the “thank you note” edition. Each year the club receives dozens of thank you notes from the various individuals and charities we support. Included in this edition are several of those notes. I am sorry that I am not able to produce a Cat Tracks newsletter on a regular basis. I just can’t seem to come up with the time. If anyone would like to take over as CAT TRACKS editor, or even just lend a hand in producing an edition of CAT TRACKS, give me a shout! Yours in Lionism, Lion Dave Hess

CAT TRACKS Winter 2014

Lions Christmas Tree Lot 2013 Brrrrrrr. Enough said! Wow, what a cold selling season it was. Lion Chairpersons Hess, Lyon and Ginsbach cannot thank everyone enough for coming out to volunteer their time, especially during those days when high temps barely made it above zero. In fact, there were three days where the high temp was Zero Degrees! Despite the weather, the Chanhassen Lions Tree lot at Cub Foods was very successful again this season. The trees arrived the day after Thanksgiving and, as usual, there was a nice crew of volunteers to help unload and display the trees. Sales started that day and the lot was officially closed at the end of the day on Sunday December 8th. A self-serve (pay at Cub) was then arranged for the remaining 21 trees and all trees were gone within a week or so thereafter. The tree lot committee is pleased to report that the net proceeds exceeded $15,000 for the second time ever! A financial statement is attached. Kids Raffle Results: The winner of the gift basket donated by ABC Toy Zone was 9 year old Madi Hamilton of Chanhassen and the winner of the $25 gift card to ABC Toy was 5 year old Sam Hanneman of Eden Prairie. Following are a few “family photos” taken during the tree season:

Several additional thank you letters are attached!

And this year’s most interesting photo?

Lions Curt, Denny and Jim pose for one of the more interesting photos of the year at the Lions Club Hosta Sale in June 2013. Posing with an African Kudu in their “Hunt for Hostas”. We do not believe this strange act caused any traffic accidents, at least not any that they will admit to!
