New Premises on the City Campus In December 2006 the University acquired a building in the City Centre, and in April 2007 the University Senate decided that 4 of the City Campus faculty libraries and the Undergraduate library will move in after extensive rebuilding; the libraries that will be merged currently operate in 14 locations.
The Faculty libraries that will move are the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences, Theology and Law.
The Behavioural Sciences Library will remain in its current (new) premises
The Library Services Department will also operate in the new building 15

Architectural Competition 2007-2008 10 invited participants, 20 participants decided by lot 27 proposals submitted
of the 7 finalists, only one proposal was from an invited participant
The decision was announced on Feb 29th 2008, and the winning proposal was drafted by Anttinen Oiva Architects LTD

Planning process The Technical Department is currently looking for a building consultant, who will be responsible for keeping the project on schedule and on budget
A committee will be formed to oversee the project Various teams with architects, library workers and users will work on different aspects of the building
