Melker Kayaks support a number of initatives with the ambition to create a more sustainable outdoors and business. To highlight the serious problems with the Baltic Sea, Melker Kayaks have founded the charity project; Save the Baltic Sea (Låt Östersjön Leva), in favor of WWF.
Following up the successful 2015 we even further expand the paddle event in 2016 and introduce a relay – around the complete Swedish coastline – for everyone to participate. All contributions are donated to WWF and their dedicated work to save the Baltic Sea.

Melker Ulvön takes the concept of sustainability, design & innovation, function & security, and value-for-money even further and introduces a serious expedition kayak with a playful character. From a design perspective, the kayak is highly inspired by surfski characteristics and surfboard design. Melker Ulvön benefits from the FSC Bamboo Composite characteristics in combination with honeycomb structure. This makes the kayak lighter, stiffer, more durable and less harmful to the environment – as bamboo is a fast growing grass, completely renewable. The extended waterline gives Melker Ulvön an excellent glide and the highest speed with very little effort.

With the large volume in the bow, the kayak offers an exceptional performance catching bigger waves and swells. Two big oval hatches in the aft and bow make it easy to pack all the needed gear and offer great space for longer expeditions. The smart recessed area on the foredeck, just in front of the cockpit, holds the water bottle or the pump in place – or simply out of the way.

adventurous day Melker Kayaks is a partner to Sören Kjellkvist, ambassador of the Swedish Outdoor association Friluftsfrämjandet and cofounder to the charity project Adventurous Day. The purpose of the Adventurous day is to bring young people between 15 and 25 years , who somehow has or had a rough or tough childhood, out in the countryside on an adventure that spans an entire day. Soren wants to create a lasting memory and give these young people an insight into the freedom and happiness the outdoor life offers, as well as a gateway to getting started with their own outdoor activities. The project is aimed at young people who could be affected by disease, exclusion, socio-economic difficulties or any other difficult experience.
