Stephen Weiss notched two power-play goals, while Marcel Goc totaled a goal and assist for Florida. Jose Theodore made 23 saves to earn his first playoff win since April 19, 2008. POSTSEASON INJURY REPORT RW Matt Bradley (IR) –2 games (upper body) RW Jack Skille (IR) –2 games (upper body) *340 man games lost to injury during the regular season THE DROUGHT IS OVER The Panthers’ victory Sunday was their first playoff victory since a 3-0 win vs. the New York Rangers in Game 1 of the 1997 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on April 17, 1997. RECORD-SETTING START Stephen Weiss’ goal :23 into the opening period Sunday set a Panthers franchise playoff record for fastest goal to start a game and a period. (:30 Jody Hull at BOS, 4/24/96 and :29 Ray Sheppard 3rd period at PIT 5/20/96). According to Elias Sports Bureau, it was the fastest power-play goal in NHL playoffs history since Montreal’s Mats Naslund scored :18 into the game at Quebec on April 26, 1987. SUNRISE STEPHEN In just his second career playoff game Sunday, Stephen Weiss notched his first playoff point with the opening goal, then became the first Panther in franchise history to score two power-play goals in a playoff game. He made his NHL playoff debut Friday after skating 10 seasons with the Panthers, totaling 390 points (144-246-390) in 637 games. This season, he became the franchise leader in assists with his 232nd on Jan. 16 and the franchise leader for most games played with his 614th game on Feb. 23. He also ranks second in franchise history in points and fourth in goals. POSTSEASON PERFORMER Sean Bergenheim tallied an assist Sunday for his second point in as many games after opening up Florida’s playoff scoring Friday. He now has 13 points (10-3-13) in 18 career playoff games. He totaled a career-high 17 goals in 62 regular-season games and his 15 points (9-6-15) in 27 regular-season games against New Jersey are his most against any NHL opponent. IN NET Jose Theodore stopped 23-of-25 shots Sunday and earned his first playoff win in 10 appearances, since stopping 34-of-35 shots for Colorado vs. Minnesota on April 19, 2008. He’s stopped 58-of-63 shots this postseason, posting a 2.52 GAA and a .921 SV%. SPECIAL TEAMS SUCCESS Florida ranks second in the NHL with a 42.9% (3-of-7) success rate on the power play and is among the NHL’s best this postseason, stopping 7-of-8 penalty kills. RIGHT WHERE HE LEFT OFF Kris Versteeg netted an assist Sunday and now has two points (1-1-2) in two playoff games, totaling 34 points (12-22-34) in 52 career playoff games. Versteeg started the regular season by setting a franchise record for most points in the first 20 games of the season (11-

14-25) and, despite missing 11 games (including nine late in the season with a lower-body injury) totaled career highs in points and goals, while matching his assist high (23-31-54). HELPING HANDS Mikael Samuelsson notched an assist on Sunday after leading all players in Game 1 with two assists Friday. He now has 56 points (2234-56) in 94 career playoff games. The Stanley Cup winner totaled 28 points (13-15-28) in 48 games with Florida during the regularseason after registering a goal and two assists in three games with Vancouver to start the season. OMGoc Marcel Goc tied his career high with two points (1-1-2) Sunday and now has three points (1-2-3) in two playoff games. He has 12 points (4-8-12) in 45 playoff games. G-52 BOMBER In his second career playoff game, Jason Garrison netted his first playoff point with an assist Sunday. Heading into the year, he had totaled 26 points (7-19-26) in 113 career games spanning three seasons. He shattered that total by netting 33 points (16-17-33) in 77 games. His 16th goal on March 23 set a Panthers franchise record for most goals by a defenseman in a single season and he tied a franchise record for most power-play goals by a defenseman with 9 –just one second away from breaking the mark on March 13. His first 13 goals of the season were all slapshots from the point, with his defensive partner, Brian Campbell, earning an assist on most of them. PLENTY OF SOUP FOR YOU Brian Campbell notched his first point of the postseason with an assist Sunday. He now has 39 points (8-31-39) in 92 career playoff games. After coming to Florida in a trade during the 2011 NHL Entry Draft –a move which many say most-influenced the changeover on the Panthers’ roster –Brian Campbell had an All-Star season, totaling an assist and leading all skaters with a +7 rating and 21:40 TOI at the mid-season classic. He T-1st in the NHL with Duncan Keith for TOI/game (26:53) while totaling only 6 PIM (his first penalty coming after accidentally shooting the puck out of play). He ranked T-2nd among all NHL defensemen with 53 points (4-49-53) in 82 games. He set a franchise record for defensemen with 30 power-play assists and tied a franchise record for defensemen with 49 helpers. GAME 3 Florida is looking for its third win in its seventh Game 3, having not won the third game of a series since taking a 5-2 win vs. Pittsburgh on May 24 in the 1996 Eastern Conference Finals. CAREER SEASONS Seven Panthers had offensive career-best seasons in 2011-12. Points, Goals and Assists: Tomas Fleischmann (27-34-61); Jason Garrison (16-17-33); Shawn Matthias (10-14-24) Points and Goals:Kris Versteeg (23-31-54) *matched career assist high Points and Assists: Dmitry Kulikov (4-24-28); Mike Weaver (0-16-16) Goals: Sean Bergenheim (17-6-23) PLAYOFF RETURN Florida opened up play in the 2012 postseason exactly 12 years to the day it started its last playoff series, a four-game sweep by New Jersey in the 2000 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Florida finished the 2011-12 season 38-26-18 and its 94 points were its most since totaling 98 in 1999-2000 (43-27-6-6). PLAYOFF EXPERIENCE Entering this postseason, Florida’s 26-player roster consisted of 18 guys who combined for 348 games of NHL playoff experience and eight Stanley Cup titles: Barch, Bergenheim, Bradley, Campbell (1), Clemmensen, Fleischmann, Goc, Kopecky (2), Jovanovski, Madden (3), Samuelsson (1), Skille, Smithson, Theodore, Upshall, Versteeg (1), Weaver and Wolski. Former Devil John Madden led Florida, having appeared in 134 postseason games for New Jersey (1999-2009) and Chicago (2010), earning three Stanley Cup championships and totaling 43 points (21-22-43). ROSTER CHANGES Of the 26 players currently on Florida’s lineup, only nine were on the Panthers roster for the final game of last season on April 9, 2011. A staggering 20 of those players have joined the Panthers lineup since Dale Tallon was hired as General Manager in May 2010. FRESH FACES

Since the start of the season, Florida acquired six veteran players to its roster –Samuelsson, Sturm, Barch, Madden, Smithson and Wolski –without giving up a high draft pick or any of its current top prospects. FLORIDA VS. NEW JERSEY –2011-12 REGULAR-SEASON RECAP Florida went 2-1-1 against New Jersey this season, claiming a 4-3, comeback win in the series opener on Nov. 21 (see below) and a 31 victory in New Jersey during the final meeting on Feb. 11. The Panthers have an all-time regular-season record of 25-39-7-6 against New Jersey, but are now 1-5 against the Devils in the playoffs. COMEBACK CATS Trailing 3-0 in the second period, Florida scored twice in the second and added two more goals in the third period to complete a regulation comeback win vs. New Jersey Nov. 21 in Sunrise. It was the largest regulation comeback victory in franchise history, coming from three goals behind for just the second time in the team’s existence (overtime previously).
