CBI – the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries – runs an export coaching programme for small and medium size companies from developing countries. CBI audits these companies and provides coaching and training to prepare them for the European and international markets. CBI presents nineteen companies processing a wide range of plant materials for use in cosmetics: luxurious oils, exquisite fragrances and innovative botanical extracts. These nineteen companies have invested in their businesses and supply chains to prepare for success in Europe. They have developed and tested their extracts to meet European market requirements and have set up responsible sourcing programmes. In addition CBI sector experts have carefully audited these suppliers in terms of quality, consistency and reliability, thus improving their chances of increasing their sales to Europe. Discover Colombia The rich complexity of Andean, Amazonian and Chocó regions help to make Colombia one of the world’s megadiverse countries. On the CBI stand this year there are four companies from Colombia: Bioprocol, Green Andina, Inzunai, Kahai. Bioprocol is producing innovative high quality plant extracts from the native biodiversity of Colombia. Their products have been assessed for safety and efficacy for use in cosmetics. Green Andina produces a range of vegetable oils and derivatives including a novel range of exfoliants designed to replace the synthetic plastic granules used in cosmetics. Both Inzunai and Kahai produce vegetable oils. Kahai is the first company in Colombia to industrialize Kahai Oil. Inzunai is one of the few companies in Colombia producing Sacha Inchi oil. In addition to the Export Coaching Programmes with companies, CBI works closely with Procolombia, ANDI and business development programmes of the Ministry Of External Trade And Tourism. CBI and local public and private sector partners have joined forces to give a boost to exports from Colombian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the European market. This includes support to partnering Business Support Organizations and technical assistance to Colombian producers and exporters with an Export Coaching Programme that will run until 2018.

Discover Peru The geographical mix of Amazon, Andes and Coast make Peru one of the top 10 megadiverse countries in the world. On the CBI stand this year there are three companies from Peru: Amazon Health Products, Candela, Derbiotec. Amazon Health and Candela manufacture vegetable oils and other derivatives from oilseeds that are harvested from the Amazon regions of Peru.
