Your Partner for Growth

Powerful and Flexible Packet Transport NPT is a family of carrier-class MPLS-based multiservice packet transport platforms, offering best in class packet transport solutions for the metro. NPT combines transport network reliability and ease of management with packet efficiency. Through convergence of Ethernet/MPLS, WDM, OTN, and TDM – managed through a state-of-the-art GUI-based intuitive NMS, NPT offers a powerful and flexible packet transport solution for the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). NPT's flexible architecture ensures seamless interworking and risk-free network transition on both the client and network sides. MPLS Dual-Stack support for both IP/MPLS and MPLS-TP guarantees seamless interworking with IP/MPLS networks as well as offering service optimized selection between IP/MPLS and MPLS-TP, configured per LSP.

Equipped with a broad mix of Ethernet and TDM interfaces, NPT offers cost-optimized multiservice packet transport, supporting delivery of both packet and TDM-based services over a converged packet infrastructure. The NPT family supports all MEF CE 2.0 services while TDM services delivered using CES. With a broad set of transport features providing high service availability and scalability along with packet synchronization support, NPT is well suited for a wide range of applications and networking scenarios. These include Multi-G mobile backhaul, residential multiplay, business VPN connectivity services, and wholesale services. As with all ECI’s transport products, the NPT family is managed by the unified multilayer LightSoft® NMS.

Multi-G Mobile Backhaul - From 2G to LTE Mobile operators are facing the unique challenges posed by their extremely dynamic and highly competitive business environment. On one hand, most of the networks include multiple mobile generations and a mix of technologies. On the other hand, the new rollout of LTE/4G poses new scale and capacity challenges and driving the shift to converged packet-based infrastructure. Moreover, many operators are changing their business model, shifting from mobile-only services to multi-play services, a change that poses new capacity and technology challenges for their networks. Mobile operators today face two key challenges: supporting the ever-increasing demand for bandwidth while lowering the cost per bit. NPT addresses these NG mobile backhaul challenges, offering:

Unrivalled Multi-G support Packet/TDM OTN/WDM Scalable Packet switching scalability – 5Gbps to 1Tbs In-service expansion from 1GE to 10GE in low RAN Proven track record managing over 17K NEs by a single NMS Converged Packet Infrastructure MPLS-TP & IP/MPLS TDM using CES Packet synchronization: 1588v2, SyncE Highly Efficient L2 CAPEX/OPEX

Modular and scalable architecture - plan for your future needs, but pay only for what you need today

One Stop Shop for Utilities Packet Transport Responsibility for mission critical applications makes reliability and service availability a top priority for utility companies. Since utilities use unique equipment that includes TDM and low bit rate interfaces, reliable cost-effective support for legacy interfaces must be available. At the same time, a future-proof network that can scale and support a shift from utility to Utelco (utilizing its infrastructure to offer additional services) must be supported. These challenges are all addressed by NPT. NPT offers utility grade transport, assuring service availability for mission-critical applications, including:

Guaranteed and secured transport Hard QoS for predictable and guaranteed performance Transport class equipment and network resiliency Secured L2/MPLS-TP connectivity Rugged design for harsh environmental conditions Risk-free transition from TDM to Packet CES for PCM/PDH/SDH/SONET

Maintain carrier grade performance for TDM over packet MPLS-TP and IP/MPLS

Low TCO Simple and easy-to-use NEs Integrated special utility interfaces and features GUI-based and intuitive unified multilayer NMS Future proof Modular and scalable architecture Unrivalled multiservice support (packet, optics, and TDM), enabling evolution from utility to Utelco

Let’s Talk Business - Wholesale and Business Services CoCs and operators providing services for business customers face two key challenges. The first is diversification, as customers vary in size (number of sites), communication equipment, and required services. From the operator perspective, the diversification challenge also includes providing differentiated revenue-generating services. The second challenge is service assurance. The contract signed between operator and customers, in terms of performance and availability, requires the operator to implement extensive mechanisms for carrier grade OAM, security, and E2E control. NPT architecture is designed to support the operators' “time is money” approach, addressing their need for fast time to market on one hand, and maintaining service availability and revenue flow on the other. The NPT offering includes:

Guaranteed and secured transport MPLS-based predictable and guaranteed performance Transport-grade equipment and network resiliency Secured L2/MPLS-TP connectivity Unrivalled multiservice support Packet – MEF CE2.0 Ethernet/MPLS TDM – PCM, PDH, SONET/SDH Storage, video, OTN Extensive SLA tools Hard QoS to meet SLA commitments Extensive OAM, performance monitoring, and protection schemes E2E control GUI-based and easy-to-use unified multilayer NMS Customer Network Management (CNM) - Customers manage their own sections of the network Seamless interworking with IP/MPLS core
