NASCSP 2015 Mid-Winter Training Conference Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel - Arlington, VA February 23 – 27, 2015 Agenda – Revised: February 10, 2015 Monday-Tuesday, February 23rd – 24th | Orientation Training Orientation training specifically designed for new and experienced Grantee directors and staff of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), the only training of this nature, will include: · a historical overview of CSBG. · a review of the federal statute and regulations. · an overview of state monitoring responsibilities. · ROMA overview and ROMA Next Generation updates. · information on OMB administrative requirements. · information on State and Federal Accountability Measures and Organizational Standards. · an opportunity to meet with experienced State CSBG directors, federal officials, and other Network partners. Orientation training specifically designed for new and experienced Grantee directors and staff of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) will include: · a review of the federal statutes, regulations, and operating procedures. · eligibility determination. · role of the WAP manager in ensuring the management and field integrity of your program. · in depth review of requirements, critical components, and best practices on State Plan development. · an introduction to WAPTAC and resources for WAP operations. · opportunities to meet and work closely with DOE Headquarters staff, NASCSP Energy Services staff, and other Grantee WAP Managers.

Tuesday, February 24th | OMB Uniform Guidance – Pre-Conference Seminar This interactive seminar will provide participants an overview of the large changes coming in administering Federal money. The presenter will step through the new rules and regulations and highlight changes from the current situation, discuss practical ways to address the new requirements, and point out areas to take advantage of opportunities to decrease red tape and increase efficiencies in the operations of your organizations. In addition to highlighting the upcoming changes, best practices for grant funded organizations will be reviewed and reinforced. Presenter: Kevin Myren, CPA

Wednesday-Friday, February 25th – 27th | NASCSP Mid-Winter Training Conference The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) track will focus on HHS CSBG initiatives. It will also highlight best practices related to anti-poverty efforts, performance management, and performance measurement. Sessions will include updates on ROMA Next Generation, Organizational Standards, State and Federal Accountability Measures, and a discussion with the Office of Community Services about their vision for the future of the Network. The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) track will focus on DOE WAP initiatives and grantee management issues. Sessions include updates and discussion of recent DOE WAP policy, program notices, guidance, and future direction of the program.

CSBG: American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) and the Learning Communities Resource Center OCS will discuss the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) which will be utilized to provide OCS and the States with actionable insights to improve their customer experience and boost program results.
