I. (Ezekiel’s Visions of God). [vv. 1-3] A. Ezekiel sees visions of God in the 13th year, 4th month the 5th day. [v. 1] B. During Jehoiachin’s captivity, the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel. [vv. 2-3] II. (A Whirlwind from the North). [vv. 4] A. It was a great cloud and a fire infolding on itself. [v. 4] III. (Four Living Creatures). [vv. 5-9] A. They had a likeness of man; each had four faces having four wings. [vv. 5-6] B. They had straight feet; mans’ hands under their wings on their four sides. [vv. 7-8] C. The wings were joined together; not turning; going straightforward. [v. 9] IV. (The Likeness of Their Faces). [vv. 10-14] A. B. C. D. E.

The faces: a man, a lion, an ox, an eagle. [v. 10] Their wings were stretched upward. [v. 11] The did not turn as they went straight. [v. 12] Their appearance was like burning coals of fire. [v. 13] They moved like lightning. [v. 14]

(The Eating of the Roll). [vv. 1-3] A. Ezekiel is to eat the roll and speak to Israel. [v. 1] B. Ezekiel ate the roll which tasted like honey. [vv. 2-3]

II. (Go and Speak). [vv. 4-7] A. Ezekiel is to go and speak to Israel. [v. 4] B. Ezekiel is not being sent to a foreign land, but to his native tongue, they should understand him. [vv. 5-6] C. Ezekiel will not be heard by Israel because of their impudent and hard hearts. [v. 7] III. (Be Strong). [vv. 8-11] A. The Lord has given Ezekiel strength to stand up against Israel. [vv. 8-9] B. Ezekiel is take into his heart all the Lord’s words and tell Israel, “thus saith the Lord God.” [vv. 10-11] IV. (A Voice of a Great Rushing). [vv. 12-15] A. The spirit takes up Ezekiel and he hears a voice say “blessed be the glory of the Lord from his place” and he also hears the noise of the creatures. [vv. 12-13] B. Ezekiel was taken up in bitterness; Ezekiel arrives at Tel-abib remaining astonished for 7 days. [vv. 14-15] V. (A Watchman). [vv. 16-17] A. After 7 days the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel. [v. 16] B. Ezekiel is Israel’s watchman and he is to warn them. [v. 17] VI. (Warn the Wicked). [vv. 18-19] A. Ezekiel is to speak and warn the wicked to saved their live. [v. 18a] B. If Ezekiel does not do so, the wicked will die and Ezekiel is held accountable. [v. 18b] C. If Ezekiel does do so, the wicked might not be saved, but Ezekiel is not held accountable. [v. 19] VII.

(Warn the Righteous). [vv. 20-24]

A. Ezekiel is to speak and warn the righteous not to turn from righteous. [v. 20a] B. If Ezekiel does not do so, if the righteous does not stay righteous, Ezekiel is held accountable. [v. 20b] C. If Ezekiel does do so, and the righteous stays righteous, Ezekiel has delivered a soul. [v. 21] D. Ezekiel is told to go to the plain where the Lord will talk with him; he does and he is told to go shut himself within his house. [vv. 22-24] VIII.

(Ezekiel Is Struck Dumb). [vv. 25-27]

A. Ezekiel is to be bound, not able to be among the people and will be made unable to speak. [vv. 25-26] B. When the Lord speaks to Ezekiel next, Ezekiel will speak to the people that they are rebellious. [v. 27]
