Our new secure online portal, myMSC, provides 24/7 access to real-time information, enabling you to manage your freight with ease. With the new SOLAS VGM law being implemented on the 1st of July 2016 myMSC will provide you with a quick and efficient online solution to submitting VGM details.
This new tool forms part of an ongoing global initiative to provide our customers with greater visibility of shipments, allowing access to documentation and operational information. In addition to VGM submission, myMSC is a secure portal designed to provide customers with access to documentation, shipment information and eCommerce offerings such as Rates, Bookings and Shipping Instructions.
To register for myMSC, please complete the following steps; 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Select ‘Register New User’ from the welcome screen. When prompted, enter the code to confirm you are not a computer. Enter your company contact details including your name and email address Select which MSC offices you wish to register with or select ‘VGM Only’ Read the Privacy Policy, you must accept this policy to use the system Set three security questions that will be used to retrieve your account if you forget your password Check all information is correct, then Submit your registration for approval

Accessing the portal is simple. You can register for the application in two ways: 1. Visit msc.com and click on ‘myMSC’ from the main menu. 2. Connect directly to the portal here: https://www.mymsc.com/Link/
DASHBOARD The home screen is your dashboard where you can see an overview of all shipments. From here you can use the navigation menu to access any area of myMSC. Note: access to this feature requires you to be approved by your local MSC Agency
SOLAS VGM myMSC provides you with access to: Submit VGM Upload Verified Gross Mass declaration form for a specific Booking or Bill of Lading number. VGM Submission History Search and view previous VGM declaration details. Container Tare Weight Search Search for a specific container tare weight.
SOLAS VGM – SUBMIT VGM INSTRUCTIONS To submit VGM details follow these simple steps: 1. Enter your booking or Bill of Lading number 2. Complete the mandatory fields including Party information 3. Enter or upload your VGM instructions, select the ‘Download Template’ button to begin the bulk-upload process. 4. You can attach supporting documents if required.
SOLAS VGM – SUBMIT VGM INSTRUCTIONS Once you’ve selected ‘download template’ an excel spreadsheet will open. Use this to input your weight instructions and save to your computer.
SOLAS VGM – SUBMIT VGM INSTRUCTIONS Once you have completed the excel spreadsheet you can upload this to the website by clicking ‘Upload Excel’ and selecting the saved file. You can click on the search icon to access your previous entries. Once uploaded check the details have pulled through correctly then click ‘Submit’.
SOLAS VGM – CONTAINER TARE WEIGHT SEARCH To search for one or multiple containers tare weight, enter the container number as shown below then click Retrieve.
DOCUMENTS – NON NEG BILL OF LADING To search for a Final copy Bill of Lading, you may enter the Bill of Lading number or Booking Number then click ‘Retrieve’.
DOCUMENTS – BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS The booking confirmation will be available for download or print. To search for another booking confirmation click ‘Reset’.
myMSC enables you 24/7 access to tracking information. Bill of Lading Container Status Track and trace shipments. Vessel Port Information Search all vessel arrivals and departures for a particular port. Future Developments: Empty Depot Return Location Shows the depot or terminal were the empty container is to be returned for merchant own haulage.
TRACKING – BILL OF LADING CONTAINER STATUS You can also search for single container status information by the Bill of Lading number and the relevant Container Number.
TRACKING – VESSEL PORT INFORMATION To search for vessel port information enter the applicable POL/POD – Import / Export – the relevant start date and how many weeks information required, then click Retrieve. The information given is then available to download and print.
myMSC provides access to vessel information: Cut-off By Booking Vessel cut off time for specific booking. Exchange Rate Request rates of exchange based on vessel or Bill of Lading number. Cutoff By Port Vessel cut off time for specific port. Cutoff By Rail Ramp Cut off time for specific rail head.
VESSEL – EXCHANGE RATES (IMPORTS) To search for exchange rate, select your MSC agency, enter Bill of Lading number then click ‘Retrieve’. The information will then be available to download or print.
VESSEL – EXCHANGE RATES (EXPORTS) To search for exchange rate, select your MSC agency, enter port details and then click ‘Retrieve’. The information will then be available to download or print.
FINANCIAL – CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS At MSC we are always working to improve our services. We are currently working to develop the below functionality to provide you with access to even more information:
Customer Accounts Outstanding Balance View pending invoice amounts. Special Payment Terms Any agreed payment terms with the specified MSC Agency. Dispute Management Raise and monitor invoice queries.
By the end of 2016, myMSC will provide access to: Rates On the spot quotation which can then be used to place an eBooking with one click. eBooking Create and submit bookings directly to MSC’s system. Shipping Instruction Create and submit shipping instructions once bookings have been confirmed.
