What is a Widget? A widget is an individual software component to easy compose website pages. With this application, you can increase your My Website with extra functionality. Go to the top of the toolbar to Widgets. Click on Widgets. The button will glow yellow and you will see different widgets options. Add the widget to choose to simply by clicking on the widget of your choice, and drag it to the desired location on My Website. Examples of popular My Website Widgets: 1. Text widget: Use the text widget to add text to My Website. When you move this widget to your site, it works as a simple text editor. By clicking on the text area, the simple word processing automatically opens. You can instantly add new text and formatting from the text editor tool. 2. Picture widget: Use the photo widget to add images to My Website. Click on the photo widget and drag it to the desired location on your My Website page. You can upload an image either to the File Manager or directly from your computer. 3. Column divider: Use the columns widget, to customize the My Website layout. By placing this widget, you get several fields for a better layout of your website. For example, choosing the two columns, the left column can be used can be used for text and the right-hand column in order to place an image. 4. HTML Widget: Use the HTML widget, to add HTML or JavaScript code to My Website pages. Tip: The menu includes a number of other widgets with different functions. We suggest you try them all; you can create a website according to your specific wishes.

How to add text to My Website? Go to Widgets and select the Text widget. Drag the widget to the section on my website where you want to add your text. A text blog appears on the selected place. Here you can change text, add images and create links. Please use the text editor toolbar. This appears when you click with the mouse in the text blog. IMPORTANT: Do not copy content from Microsoft Word. Its specific formatting might cause malfunction of My Website pages. Always put the contents in plain text (e.g. from Notepad), and then adjust the formatting directly in the text editor widget.

How to add images to My Website? With Photo Widget, you can add images to My Website. Click on the photo widget and drag it to the desired location on my website. You can upload an image directly from the File Manager or your local computer.

How to I copy/duplicate My Website? Click on "Save page as", if you want to copy an existing website including all individual web elements. We recommend that you duplicate My Website if you want to make major changes, which are more extensive than a backup. This gives you the data information My Website still at your disposal, if the change of My Website does not lead to the desired result. Procedure My Website Duplication: 1. Go to the page that you want to copy. 2. Click Page. 3. Click the down arrow next to the page name and select "Save page as". 4. How to change the appearance of My Website? 1. Click on "Style". 2. Choose Change Template in the left toolbar. 3. Then scroll through the various styles (look and feel) offered. You can preview any webpage styles separately. 4. Click on the most suitable style design template. It automatically applies to your My Website. IMPORTANT: If you upload your own banner on my website and then change the style design template), your image will not be automatically adjusted. You need to reselect your personal banner (if the selected website style allows). You will find the stored image in the File Manager.

How to add a new page to My Website If you are creating a new My Website, it always automatically creates a menu with a Homepage (cover page), About Us or contact (form) page. To add more pages, proceed as follows: 1. In the Website editor, click on the tab "Page" and the green "+" sign. 2. It opens a new window. Enter your new webpage name. 3. Click OK to confirm the page name. The new page is automatically added to My Website. IMPORTANT: The number of pages varies by package. The My Website Start package contains three pages. Other My Website packages (standard and premium) contain an unlimited number of pages.

How do I delete an existing page? 1. Make sure that you are on the page you want to delete 2. Click on the page and then click the "trash" sign. 3. Confirm in the new dialog box window, that you indeed want to delete the page. The webpage will remove automatically. IMPORTANT: You cannot restore a deleted Webpage. Before you remove the web page, think if you really do not want to reuse it.

How to add a favicon to My Website? A Favicon is the icon that appears when you open a web page in the address bar of a web browser. To set a favicon for My Website: 1. In the menu bar, click "Settings" and select "Page Properties". 2. Select "Edit favicon". 3. Select a favicon. You can now upload your own. IMPORTANT: In Premium packages, you can also choose from existing favicons. 4. To see what your favicon looks like on your site, click Upload Files, Publish and Save.

How to insert a picture into a text in My Website? 1. On the My Site Dashboard Widgets, click Widgets- Text widget. 2. Click on "Picture" (mountain icon) in the text editor. 3. In the new window, you can select an image. You can choose from a previously uploaded image or upload a new image. Click on the picture you want to insert. 4. In the editor, you will see three options: picture with text below, with text on the right or text on the left. 5. Select the option that best suits you. Begin typing the text. The text adjusts automatically around the image, based on your chosen settings.

How to add a contact form page to My Website? 1. Click at the My Site Dashboard on Widgets- right arrow for more options- and finally form. 2. Drag the Form Widget to the desired My Site page. 3. The widget is loaded and you can then choose between two options:  1 Contact  2 Empty Form 4. Choose "Contact" or "Blank Form" to add one of the forms. IMPORTANT: For both options, you can edit the contents of individual fields. 5. Double-click the name, e-mail, phone or post in the contact form, to change the text. You can directly delete the existing text and enter a new text. Click Save to save the changes. 6. Double-click the "Submit" button, in order to adapt it to the purpose of the form. 7. Click on the cross (x) to remove an item. 8. To add a new field to the form, click "Add New Field". Enter the correct name, and click Save. 9. To move a field to a different position, drag the field to the new location. 10. You can add a new field and adjust for the following:

Answers to the contact form are sent to the registered email address. This e-mail address is findable in "Settings". You can get your e-mail address and the greeting that website visitors see after filling out the form adjust here. 12. Once you have completed the form, click SAVE in the form to save the changes. 13. Click Save at the top of the menu bar to see how your form will look like. 14. To adjust the design of the contact page, click in the form Widget left on top on Edit. Here you can look and feel, background, borders, corners, shadows, spacing and modify fonts. 15. If you are satisfied, click Publish to publish the form on the page and make it work optimally.

How can I password-protect My Website?

With the My Website site builder system, you can create a personal page, or protect a part of your website with a password. What this feature allows you to do: • Create a separate account with a username and password. • Choose whether you want to password-protect the entire site, or only a small part. • Share the username and password with web visitors, who want to access the section of the website, which is password-protected. • The protected part of the site is only accessible with a username and password. What this feature does not allow you to do: • For safety reasons, this function does not allow web visitors to subscribe to your website to get a username and password for your website.

How to set up a password-protect site for My Website? 1. Click Settings and then select Password Protection. 2. Click behind password "Protect Operation". 3. In the new window, enter a login (username) and password. 4. Then select the pages that you want to protect with a password.  Protect all pages with a password? Click "Lock all".  Remove password-protection? Click the right button "Unlock All." 5. You can choose separately for password protection for each website page. To create another password-protected page, click on the checkbox to protect the existing site with a password. 6. Click Save to see what the password-protected section looks like. 7. When you are satisfied, click Publish to activate the settings.

How to create a hyperlink (URL) for My Website? 1. Type text into a text widget. Select the text in the text box where you want the hyperlink. 2. Click in the text editor on the "link" icon in the text editor. 3. In the "Choose a Link" window, choose what to add kind of link you. You can add the following links:  Page on this site  External link  E-mail address  File (stored on the site) 4. Enter a title to the link and click on Save. The link will now be added.

How to create a picture link (URL) for My Website? 1. Click in Widgets on Photo Widgets and drag the photo widget to My Website. 2. The window "Select Image" opens. Select a picture and click OK. 3. Click "Edit" at the top left in the photo widget. Then click on the link "Choose a link." 4. In the "Select a Link" window, choose what kind of link to add. You can add the following links:  Page on this site  External link  E-mail address  File (stored on the site) 5. Enter a title to the link and click on Save. The link will now be added. 6. Finally, click Save to return to My Website.

How can visitors register on My Website? Due to safety reasons, website visitors cannot register for the complete My Website. How to add HTML code to My Website? Part of the code into the pages can be added using HTM widget 1. Go to Widgets – Popular- HTML-code. 2. Drag the HTML-code Widget to My Website page. 3. Click on the HTML code, to open the HTML-editor. Here you can type or paste the HTML code. Then click on "Save" to save the HTML-code.

How to add a blog to My Website? My Website does not support My Website blog, but it supports Tumblr. You can create a blog on Tumblr and connect them into my website with my website. 1. Go to Widgets and Select Media. 2. Choose the Tumblr widget. 3. Drag the widget to the My Website page; you want to post a blog. 4. Do you not have a Tumblr account yet? Click right on Sign Up. Already have an account Tumblr? Enter your Tumblr name and click OK. 5. Now, you will be directed to Tumblr to your blog or change. Save the changes in Tumblr. These changes are automatically visible on your My Site page. IMPORTANT: Tumblr lets you effortlessly share text messages, photos, quotes, links, music and videos. Wherever you are: part from your web browser, smart phone, desktop or email. Any changes you make in the blog are automatically reflected on your page.

How do I change the link color (URL) on My Website? Please use the Style Designer, to change the link color of my website. This allows all link colors of My Website Pages to look uniform. 1. Click Style - Settings - Style Designer 2. Go to the section color 3. Select the appropriate link color (URLs) to My Website and click Save.

How to change the font color of My Website? ACTIVE 24 recommends you to use the Style Designer, to change the font color. In this way, settings will be the same for all My Website pages. It will give My Website a uniform look & feel. 1. Click Style - Settings - Style Designer 2. In Style Designer, choose Advanced- Colors. 3. In fonts, select the appropriate font style for each type of formatted text. You can also use its numeric code. For example. #000000= black. 4. Click Save to save changes.

How to change the background of My Website? To customize the My Website background, we recommend you to make use of the Style Designer. In this way, the background looks uniform for all My Website pages. 1. Click Style - Settings - Style Designer 2. Go to Advanced- Colors in Style Designer. 3. Choose Colors for Background. 4. Click on Edit (pencil) to add your own image. 5. Click "Background color" to choose the color of the background or foreground. Choose a color for each text section. Click the specific area (background / foreground). Choose Navigation in the desired color or add the numerical color code. E.g. # 000000 = black. 6. Click "Save" to save the changes.

How do I change My Website banner image? To change the banner of my website (picture in the header), we advise you to make use of the Style Designer. The banner looks uniform for all My Site pages. 1. Click Style - Banner - Style Designer. 2. Double-click on the Banner image at My Website. 3. In Style Designer, go to Advanced- Colors- Banner. 4. Click Banner- Edit- Select Image. 5. Download a new banner or select an existing banner from My Files. Adjust the size and location of the image to suit your needs. 6. Click Select and Save to save the change.

How do I change the Font on the menu in My Website? You can change the font, color and font size of the menu with the Style Designer. 1. Click in Style Designer on Style – Fonts. Double-click on Fonts. The Style Designer opens. Select Advanced. 2. Click Fonts. Choose a suitable font from the drop down menu. 3. In Style Designer go to Navigation, to set the font and font size. 4. In Style Designer, go to Color, to change the color of the specific menu item. 5. Click "Save" to save the changes.

How do I add multiple images side-by-side on My Website? You can add multiple images side by side on the My Website page in two ways: • Option 1: Drag the Columns Widget for My Website. Add a Photo Widget to each column (2 photos). Add another Columns Widget to divide the page into 4 sections and add a Photo Widget separately for each column (4 photos). • OPTION 2: Click on Widgets on the Gallery Widget. Drag the widget to my website. Finally, select the images that contain a gallery.

How do I add social buttons to My Website? To share the content of your website through social media, you need Social media buttons. You can easily add such social buttons to My Website. Choose between Facebook (Facebook Like, Facebook Comments), Google+, Share and Twitter (Tweet This). 1. Click Widget- Social. 2. Select Social Media button (s) of your choice by dragging them to my website. 3. Click Save, then click Publish to show the change on the Internet.

How do I add metadata to My Website page for SEO purposes? To make My Website more visible to search engines (SEO), you can add metadata. On each My Site page, you can simply add Meta tags, title, description and keywords. 1. Go to the specific My Website page you want to add metadata. 2. Click Page - Metadata. 3. Fill in the required details:  Page- header  Page Title  Description  Keywords 4. Click Save to make the changes. Repeat this process for each My Site page, which you want to store metadata.

How do I add a logo to My Website? 1. Click Style - Settings - Style Designer 2. Select Logo 3. Click the logo button to edit and add your logo.

How to add downloadable files (e.g. PDF) to My Website? 1. Click on Widgets - Media - Files. 2. Drag the File Widget to My Website. 3. Now you can select files. You have here the option to select files from your computer or from previously saved files. The file is displayed on the My Site page. Web visitors can open or download the file.

Can I customize an existing template in My Website? The My Website site builder system cannot upload homemade templates. However, by using the Style Designer and modifying CSS, you can preset templates to suite your needs. To do so: 1. Click Style - CSS. 2. A new window opens "Website CSS replacement". 3. Copy your existing CSS website and paste it into My Website. IMPORTANT: It may be that the Custom CSS is turned off. To activate it, choose Enable Sites CSS Overrides.

Can I upload to the web page, which I created myself? Unfortunately, it is not possible; you can only create webpages through the My Website system administration.

Can I add Flash pages to My Website? Yes, with the Flash SWF-Widget, you can add Flash files on my Web site, without having to modify the HTML code: 1. Click on Widgets - Media - Flash SWF file. 2. Drag the Flash SWF Widget to My Website. The widget is loaded. 3. Select a Flash (SWF) file from My Files. You have here the choice to select the file from your computer or from previously saved files. 4. If necessary- adjust the dimensions of the Flash file.

Why does the web browser call My Website an „Untitled Site”? If your web browser displays My Website as an "Untitled Site", you forgot to give the specific My Website Page a Page description. You can change this description: 1. Click at the top of the navigation bar on Edit Menu. 2. In the Navigation pane, click Rename the specific My Website page. 3. Enter webpage name and click Rename page. 4. Click OK to save the changes. 5. Click Save and then Publish to make the changes visible on the Internet. How do I change the My Website page order in the navigation menu? 1. Go to Navigation. 2. Change the My Website Page order by dragging the specific pages to the right place. IMPORTANT: You can only manage the site navigation menu with My Website see pages.

How do I make links that open in a new window in My Website? 1. Select the text area, a text widget on my website which you want to link to. 2. In the text editor on the link sign (chain character) to add a link. 3. It opens a new window, where you can link to different types of links. 4. Type the full URL as the destination address for the link address. 5. Then click on the option "Open in New Window" and click "OK". 6. Click Save and Publish to make the changes visible on the Internet.

How can web visitors translate My Website into their local language? Using Google Translate Widget will allow their visitors to get them to translate into your language. 1. Click Widgets- Mixed - Translate 2. Drag the Translation widget to my website. The Web page then click Language Select and choose his preferred language. The My Website page will be automatically translated by Google Translate.

Can I add video to My Website? You cannot record video directly to a page, but you can use a Video Widget For example: from YouTube or Metacafe. 1. Click Widget- Media - YouTube Video. 2. Drag the widget to the My Website page. 3. Enter the video URL (link) you want to display. 4. Choose “Save settings”.

Can I use AdSense for My Website? Yes, you can use Google AdSense to My Site. With the Google AdSense Module, you can add pages to Google Display contextual advertising. 1. Go to Widgets and click on E-commerce. Drag Google AdSense Widget to My Website. 2. A new window opens. Here you can log in/sign up for Google AdSense. 3. Fill in the Google AdSense code, that you receive from Google and click Save. 4. Publish My Website for the proper functioning. AdSense works only after you have republished the website.
