My Life Project: What is my Goal? During the current week the discussion in all the classes was mostly focused on gratitude and shukr;; it was mentioned that the human being is ungrateful and always needs reforming from Allah SWT and He reforms us through His ayahs in the Quran. It is one of the plots of the shaytan to make the human beings ungrateful to his Lord and far from His mercy. We always need to remember our goal of reaching the Jannah and Allah SWT is always appreciating the efforts of His slaves and has promised a rreward which iss far greater than the efforts which we can ever make, out of His Mercy to His slaves and even the power to do good is from Allah’s Allah nurturing and rforming. Today we will see our goal through Ayahs 32 to 35 of Surah Surah-e-Fatir:
Surah Fatir Ayah 32 Then we caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants; and among them is he who wrongs himself, and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who is foremost in good deeds by permission of Allah. That [inheritance] is what is the great bounty.
There are different groups of people wh which Allah SWT has mentioned in Surah Fatir.. Allah SWT says: Then we caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants
The three different categories of people whom the Book was given, so that they follow these Divine Books revealed by Allah SWT SWT, are mentioned in this Ayah. All of these categories are the believing slaves of Allah SWT but at different levels of deeds:
they are among the believer but they are ruining themselves by doing
the sins; they are deficient in doing the obligations which they should be doing ( the contrary doing some sinful acts which are forbidden (
) and on
) by Allah SWT but out of His perfect
generosity Allah SWT has included them in the believers category: Class 7
who is moderate
people who are in the middle course; se; not doing too little or doing too
much; moderate in the matters of the religion ( the obligations ( 3.
) like not doing g the voluntary but doing only
) and restraining from doing the forbidden ( who is foremost in good deeds by permission of Allah
people we see
). only with this category of the
meaning by the permission of Allah SWT – they reach the foremost in doing the good
deeds in the Deen (
) and we find them doing more voluntary deeds on top of the obligatory and
precede the others in racing towards doing go good deeds and are quick in leaving the forbidden and Allah SWT has associated their good deeds with His Will and Permission. This is because the ones doing the good deeds are not deceived by the goodness of their deeds (
) so that they do not start attributing
the good to themselves and forget about the gratitude to Allah SWT so it is a favour and guidance from Allah SWT (
) that He enabled them to be foremost in doing the good.
After giving these three categories of believers Allah SWT is saying that it is a bounty from Him on His slaves: That [inheritance] is what is the great bounty
The great favour from Allah SWT when He chose them to be among His slaves – an honour and a title for the chosen ones by Allah SWT that is why Allah SWT is calling it a great favour from them that if someone is guided so they should be always busy with thanking and appreciating Allah SWT (
) and His favours – and
praying Allah SWT to be at least among the
and strive to be among the
Now we will see in Ayah 33 what reward Allah SWT has kept for His believing slaves who are striving for His pleasure but only with His permissi permission and guidance:
Surah Fatir Ayah 33 [For them are] gardens of perpetual residence which they will enter. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be silk.
[For them are] gardens of perpetual residence which they will enter
In the previous Ayahs we only discussed the
but here Allah SWT has
used a name to describe the Jannah which is
gardens – the beauty of these gardens cannot be imagined by anyone – whoever will enter these gardens will stay there forever (
will never ver come out and the delights of the Jannah will also be permanent and will never separate from its dwellers dwellers, this is the description of its people that they will abide there forever (
They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold
Every Ayah in Quran has described the Jannah in a different manner – here the description of the Jannah is to the point of telling what will be worn by its dwellers; they will be adorned dorned with the bracel bracelets of gold – the place is beautiful, its it dwellers will be beautiful and their adornment will also be beautiful – everything will be perfected by Allah SWT for His slaves.
meaning something sweet and beautiful and it is a passive that they will be given and it
is not that they will be required to do any efforts or struggle themselves to find these adornment but they will get everything ing without any struggle unlike this duniya where everything needs struggle and effort and only after that we get something. Struggle truggle is not a characteristic of Paradise – that is only in this world. Everything will be ready for the dwellers of the Jannah. There will be unlimited adornment there but Allah SWT has mentioned here specifically the gold bracelets – some ayahs say bracelets of silver – and the silver and gold of the Jannah will be different from this world; we only know the name but bu they will be made pure for its dwellers. All the people of paradise will wear wh whether ther male or female whereas in this duniya the male are not allowed to wear gold. and pearls
And they will be adorned also with the pearls – in their gowns and even they themselves will be adorned with the pearls in their bodies (
) though the dwellers of the Paradise will be beautiful
themselves but also they will be adorned with more beautiful things and tthe enjoyment joyment and the delights of all these will be forever. and their garments therein will be silk
Their apparent dress will be of the silk ilk but not like the silk of this world – only the name will be the same but it will be different from this silk. The names used in the Quran uran for the silk of the Jannah are - thick or thin layers of very fine silk. These are the descriptions which make us longing for the Paradise with the guidance and permission of Allah SWT. In the next Ayah we see how the dwellers of the Paradise will show their gratitude to Allah SWT for entering them into the Jannah and giving all these blessings and favours.
Surah Fatir Ayah 34 And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow. Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving and Appreciative –
We see in this Ayah gratitude from the dwellers of the Paradise and this iiss actually the way to the Paradise – being always grateful to Allah SWT for His blessings. They are really shakireen in this duniya as well as in the Paradise they will be grateful and this suits the human being to be alway alwayss grateful to Allah SWT. And they will say, "Praise to Allah
who has removed from us [all] sorrow
They will realize the sorrows of this duniya and how Merciful and Generous Allah SWT has been with them to enable them to enter the Paradise and remove all the sorrows and hards hardships from them and replace them with the most beautiful and delightful things.
are different types of sorrows – in this
duniya nothing is perfect so there are deficiencies in all the things which make us sad and we can never have perfect delights and after these when the dwellers ers of the Paradise will get everything perfected for them which will bring them constant delight then they will become even more grateful to Allah SWT for His Blessings and favours. re are hardships and sorrowful decree which make us unhappy and d also the fear of Allah’s Allah punishment; There punishment of the grave and that of hellfire make us dejected but the ones who are patient on these and are always fearing Allah SWT and are content will be the successful ones. When they will w go to the Paradise then they will become even more grateful to Allah SWT that not only the imperfection and the distressed things and Allah’s punishment have been removed but everything has been perfected for them SubhanAllah. Class 7
Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving and Appreciative
Now they will understand derstand and we need to know Allah Allah’s Names in this duniya so that we will understan understand how Allah SWT deals with us – so they will say Rabbana – the Nurturer and the Reformer – they will say that our Rabb who nurtured and reformed us in this duniya; we were full of mistakes and sins but Allah SWT out of His Mercy forgave our sins and appreciated our smallest allest efforts and enabled us to enter His Paradise not because of our deeds but because of His Mercy.
Surah Fatir Ayah 35 He who has settled us in the he home of duration out of His bounty. There touches us not in it any fatigue, and there touches us not in it weariness [of mind]."
He who has settled us in tthe home of duration out of His bounty
To enter the Paradise is out of Allah’’s bounties – no fatigue or tiredness or sadness will even ven touch its dwellers – out of His favours and generosity; a place where we will dwell for ever
because of our deeds but because Allah SWT appreciates even smallest of the deeds and increase them in reward out of His gen generosity.
There touches us not in it any fatigue
No hardship will even touch anyone in the Paradi Paradise because it is a characteristic aracteristic of this duniya to have hardship and to get tired and fatigue but not in the Jannah.
and there touches us not in it weariness [of mind]
Even the enjoyment of this duniya uniya is mixed with tiredness and fatigue but in Paradise pure delight without any fatigue and stress whether physical or mental. Allah SWT will make their bodies perfect and will give enjoyment without any difficulty. O Allah SWT we ask You Paradise and what will make us close to it from fro our deeds and from utterances.
