Each  year,  the  members  of  the  class  organize  a  number  of  events  to  raise  funds  for  organizations  that  serve  rural   Preferred!Date(s):!!

communities   in   BC,   as   well   as   provide   an   opportunity   for   students   to   showcase   their   talents   outside   of   the   Proposed!length!of!Presentation:!!

classroom.  Some  of  our  events  include:  the  Run  for  Rural  Medicine,  MedBall,  Med-­‐Play  and  the  4th  Year  Graduation   A!brief!description!of!how!this!presentation!will!benefit!medical!students:!

events.  Unfortunately,  despite  these  extensive  and  well-­‐supported  student  efforts,  the  total  funds  raised  falls  short   of  the  amount  required  to  ! run  the  events.

! It  is  due  to  this  unmet  financial  need  that  the  students  of  the  UBC  Faculty  of  Medicine  are  looking  for  sponsors  to  

help  make  our  initiatives  s! uccessful.  Many  of  these  events  raise  their  own  funds  though  ticket  sales,  but  in  addition   any  additional  funds  raised   ! will   be   donated   to   a   charity   selected   on   the   basis   of   providing   assistance   to   rural   health   care.  Previously,  the  second-­‐year  class  donated  to  the  charity  Hope  Air,  an  organization  that  provides  free  flights   !! for  low-­‐income  patients  needing  specialized  health  care.  We  hope  to  continue  this  generous  giving  to  and  show  our   Other!comments:!!
