GE NEMA Rated Full Voltage Starters GE’s 300-Line of NEMA rated controls has a complete offering of full voltage non-reversing, reversing, two-speed and combination motor starters, plus magnetic contactors. They are available in NEMA Sizes 00-9; 600 Volts maximum, 1600 horsepower maximum; open forms or in Types 1, 3R, 4, 4X and 12 enclosures. The 300-Line has standard specification approval by many major manufacturers for the toughest industrial applications.

CR306, CR386 Non-Reversing

Current-carrying components—contact tips are weldresistant, silver cadmium oxide (fine silver on sizes 00 and 0 only). Contacts are installed in a wedge configuration for positive make with minimum bounce.

Optional PF capacitor terminals—permit easy connection of power factor correction capacitors between contactor and overload relay for energy conservation.

• •

Class 20 overload protection.

Manual weld check—provides a convenient test against welding of overload relay contacts. Just depress the weld check operator to trip the relay, run a simple continuity test across the relay contacts, then depress the manual reset to return the starter to service.

Optional isolated NO contact on the overload relay— provides means of direct interface with programmable controller or computer to monitor performance and diagnose faults.

Dual bimetals—anticipate overloads, responding to rising current and temperature with faster tripping on severe overloads for better motor protection.Trip points are factorycalibrated for accuracy.

±10% trip adjustment—by turning a dial in the overload relay face allows “tuning” the protection to the motor on the spot.

Largest selection of modifications and accessory kits— includes auxiliary contacts, coils, fifth-pole addition, vertical and horizontal mechanical interlocks, surge suppressors, control circuit fusing, NEMA Type enclosures, push buttons, selector switches, indicating lights, control transformers, space heaters and more.

Magnetic Motor Starters 1600 Horsepower Maximum NEMA Sizes 00-9, 600 Volts Maximum, 50/60 Hertz

Basic 300-Line Features GE’s full voltage (600-Volt maximum) magnetic motor starter has an encapsulated coil and a 3-leg overload relay to protect against overloads in all phases. It is on standard specifications of major manufacturers. The line offers features and benefits most asked for by users. Forms available include reversing and non-reversing, two-speed, and combination, sizes 00-9.

Tool-less contactor disassembly (Sizes 00-4)—allows quick access for inspection and maintenance. Just release two retainers and pull a clip to get at magnet, coil and contacts.

Saddle clamp terminals (Sizes 00-1)—accommodate ring, spade and stripped wire leads and carry permanent stampedin identification. Staggered arrangement (standard in sizes 00-1, optional in sizes 2-4) makes wiring easier and helps prevent shorting between phases.

Visual trip indicator with manual reset—to avoid surprise restarts. Reset occurs on arm upstroke so a tripped condition can’t be overridden by holding the arm down.

Motor Starters & Controls GENERAL ELECTRIC

CR305X, CR385X Auxiliary Contact Kits for Field Installation on Magnetic Contactors and Starters NEMA Sizes 0-7

Application

300-Line Auxiliary Contact Kits

Auxiliary contact can add to the versatility of magnetic contactors and starters by providing additional control circuits to do a variety of jobs without adding to the width of the starter. Kits make it easy to add contacts to control accessory equipment such as indicating lights; to control sequencing of other motor starters; and, in conjunction with a standard reversing starter and plugging switch, to plug-stop motors. Auxiliary contacts can be added to all across-the-line magnetic starters and contactors, combination magnetic starters, reversing and multi-speed controllers. Each auxiliary contact is rated 10 Amperes ac, resistive load, NEMA “A600.” and is suitable for either right or left side mounting. An insulating shield is also provided between each auxiliary contact unit and the starter. Auxiliary contacts are furnished in the basic block design or as an adder block. Each contact is marked NO or NC on the block and is not convertible. To provide better contact fidelity than obtained with standard silver contacts, logic reed switch auxiliary contacts are also available in kit form. These are designed for applications on lowvoltage control circuits (24 Volts and below), such as inputs to computers and programmable controllers.

Motor Starters & Controls ASCO

ASCO® 917 Remote Control (RC) Switches Branch Circuit Control 2 to 12 Poles The ASCO 917 remote control (RC) switch has a 20ampere rating to 600 volts AC. Available with 2 to 12 poles, it is the most compact multi-pole lighting contactor available. Suitable for handling all types of lighting, the ASCO 917 is listed under UL 508 for ballast, tungsten, resistive and general purpose loads. The general purpose rating is 30 amperes to 600 VAC. A patented operating mechanism of the ASCO 917 results in a remote control switch that is mechanically held and electrically operated. Contacts are power driven to both the open and closed positions by a momentary pulse, thereby providing quieter operation because there is no AC hum as is experienced with magnetically-held contactors. The mechanically-held operation assures that the ASCO 917 will not to “off” during control power failures. During such failures, magnetically-held contactors may fall into the “off” position, even though service voltage is available.

Push Buttons P9 Shapes, Material and Colors of the Operators The P9 line consists of three different styles of operators: round metal, round engineered thermoplastic and square engineered thermoplastic. The elegant, modern and ergonomic design of the P9 actuators comes in a wide variety of colors and styles and they are the result of different stages of superior industrial design experience. These characteristics allow the P9 operators to be used in each industrial environment and enable them to satisfy the most sophisticated industrial applications.

Mounting Options The P9 line offers a wide variety of operators, contact blocks and power supplies. All of them are completely interchangeable in a “easy-to-assemble” fashion thanks to an innovative flange mechanism designed to reduce to a minimum the assembly time. Furthermore, to satisfy particular applications needs, a range of operators, contact blocks and power supplies were designed to be base mounted. This avoids removing the wires during repairs, thus facilitating the maintenance operations. The base mounting option is simple because plastic enclosures are fitted with a standard mounting plate which allows a snap-on and steady fastening between the operators and the electrical units.

Electrical Devices The P9 line offers a wide range of rear panel devices such as regular screw type terminals, fast-on (quick connect) types and others. Special versions such as Late-opening, Early-closing, flashing power supplies and supplies with test options are also available.

Fitting and Positioning All the P9 operators are “fitted” with a special seal to ensure the IEC IP65 degree of protection. A proper tab on the operators body allows the right positioning on panels with holes drilled according to the notch reference of CENELEC EN 50007 standards. The tab also ensures panel stability) because it prevent unwanted rotation during the panel mounting and maintenance procedures. The tab can be removed with a screwdriver for applications where panels’ holes are not provided with the locator notch.

Rear Locking and Back Mounting Procedure P9 operators are back mounted to the panel thanks to a patented threaded locking ring. The units can be assembled using a standard screwdriver. In addition, an easy-to-use assembly wrench is used to tighten the locking ring to the panel.

Fast Mounting All the P9 series rear panel devices are snap-on inserted. The mounting between the panel and the operator is done with a patented snap-on flange which ensures a fast fitting. For base mounting, the fitting is done directly on the base plate. Each single block can be mounted or removed by itself without interfering with the others. In the panel mounting, it is possible also to install or to remove the snap-on flange with the block, thus simplifying the maintenance operations. In disassembling the block and/or the flange, the customer can use a standard screwdriver. This simplifies maintenance operations. P. O. Box. 942 Yanbu Saudi Arabia

Safety and Reliability The P9 series contact blocks were designed to ensure maximum reliability in every condition and to monitor control circuits at low energy levels (12V-5mA) avoiding the use of special contact blocks. Thanks to manufacturing solution like: four switching points with double movable bridges (mechanical separated yet electrical connected), high efficiency self-cleaning sliding contacts, silver contacts, the P9 series contact blocks can operate in high safety margins also at low energy level circuits and for many more operations without failures we are sure that the P9 is the best line in the industry.

Suitable for Electronic This high level of reliability and its good performance, including at low energy level circuits, makes the P9 series pushbuttons the best interface to control and to monitor advanced automation systems like the programmable logic control.

Illuminated Indications Functions A very clearly defined visual communication symbols and inscriptions on the operators simplifies the operations and increases safety. The EASY-TO-CUSTOMIZE P9 series system includes: – Caps, lenses and inserts with symbols according ISO standards – Plate holders, standard and large sizes, supplied with triple laminated plastic neutral write-on plate (black-white-red) engraved on both sides, snap-on inserted and simple to remove. – Round yellow background plate, for emergency pushbuttons, neutral or with texts in seven languages. – Neutral engraved identification plates, inserted on the rear panel devices, to identify each single unit operating from the back side.

Indications to Avoid Mistakes All the P9 series rear panel terminals, are numbered according CENELEC EN 50013 standards; this performance allows a quick identification and avoids wrong wiring connections. To identify directly the electric function, each single unit is laser printed with the corresponding international symbol.

Connections Engineering All the P9 series contact blocks and power supplies are provided with clamping screw terminals. Screws are not fully tightened to allow easy insertion of the wires. The captive screw has a special head (cross-slotted) suited for manual or automatic screwdriver. The enclosures configurations allow the screwdriver to be selfguided during the tightening operations. The single pole contact blocks and the full voltage power supplies are also supplied with terminals suitable for 1 faston female 6,35x0,8 mm or with 2 faston female 2,8x0,8 mm.

Active Parts Protections All the rear panel screw terminals are IP2X protected according IEC 529 standard (finger proof). The fast-on terminals are also supplied with a 6,35 mm insulation cover to provide added safety. These insulation cover are easily available at any electrical wholesaler. P. O.
