MONROE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION AGENDA – February 2, 2012 MISSION STATEMENT The Monroe Township Public School District, an educational team, is dedicated to the development of the potential and uniqueness of the individual student to become effective participants in an evolving global society while providing a safe educational environment for students to attain the skills and knowledge specified in the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. ROLL CALL RESOLUTION FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION

The Board will meet in Executive Session, from which the general public is excluded, to discuss personnel, financial matters, student matters, litigation, negotiations, and contracts. Other OUT OF EXECUTIVE SESSION A regular meeting of the Monroe Township Board of Education will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 7:30 P.M., in the Lecture Hall of Williamstown High School. Adequate notice pursuant to the provisions of P.L. 1975, Chapter 231, Open Public Meetings Act, has been given of this meeting by publishing notice thereof in the Gloucester County Times, giving notice to the Courier Post, by posting notice in the Monroe Township Municipal Building and all district school buildings and by filing notice with the Township Clerk, all having been done after the last reorganization meeting of the Board. CALL TO ORDER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY FIRE SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT Ladies and Gentleman, please take note of the fire exits located within this room. They are located to the rear left and right of this room. In case of fire, you will be notified via the audible fire alarm system. If you are alerted to a fire emergency, please move in a calm, orderly manner to the nearest smoke free fire exit. Please turn off all cell phones and pagers or set them to vibrate mode. By order of the fire marshal, smoking is not permitted in the building or on school grounds. The school district does not permit food in this room. Thank you for your cooperation. Recommend sustained action be approved to quote bus route S60X to provide transportation for a Monroe Township special needs student to participate in an after school activity at Bankbridge School, Sewell, NJ. Student will need transportation home only every Wednesday at 3:30pm from January through the end of March of the 2011/2012 school year. R-1

Recommend sustained action be approved to quote bus route S59X to provide transportation for a Monroe Township special needs student to attend Oak Knoll Elementary School for the remainder of the 2011/2012 school year. This bus will require a mini-van and a bus aide. R-2

Recommend sustained action be approved to quote bus route L19X to provide transportation for one Kindergarten student who is displaced and residing in Williamstown, NJ. Transportation from a babysitter in Franklinville, NJ for the p.m. session. Student requires transportation to Holly Glen Elementary School for remainder of 2011/2012 school year. R-3

Recommend sustained action be approved to award the quote for bus route S60X to Delaware City Bus in the amount of $68.80 per diem, for a total cost of $688. R-4

Recommend sustained action be approved to award the quote for bus route S59X to Delaware City Bus in the amount of $91.70 per diem, for a total cost of $9,078.30. R-5

Recommend sustained action be approved to enter into a joint agreement with Delsea Regional High School District to transport one Monroe Township special needs student on Delsea bus route SP13 to Katzenbach School for the Deaf in West Trenton, NJ at a cost to Monroe Township Board Of Education $24,318.00 for the 2011/2012 school year. Recommend sustained action be approved to enter into a joint agreement with Delsea Regional High School District to transport one Monroe Township special needs student on Delsea bus route SP14 to Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia, PA at a cost to Monroe Township Board Of Education $29,707.00 for the 2011/2012 school year. Recommend approval to accept the donation of two (2) freezers for the Williamstown Middle School Renaissance Program from Kathy Tremble and Sally Fox valued at $200. R-8
