Born in Hungary in 1907; George Buday attended Kolozsvar and Szeged University, he qualified in 1934 and also studied in Italy. He lectured on graphic design at the Franz Joseph University, Hungary, 1934-41. After emigrating to Britain in 1937 he worked as a book illustrator and author of a series of "Little Books", including the "Little Book of Hungarian Folk Tales" (1943). He was elected to the Royal Society of Painters-Etchers in 1953 and a fellow of the Society of Wood Engravers a year later. He also exhibited at the Royal Academy and elsewhere. He was author of "The History of the Christmas Card", published in 1954. Expelled from every school, she educated herself and is reputed to have read the works of Freud before she was sixteen years old.

She moved to Milan and participated in her fist group exhibition in 1929 and then to Paris in 1931. When in Paris her vibrant personality and dress sense meant that she was quickly acquainted with the Surrealist set of Max Ernst, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Picasso, Salvador Dali and André Pieyre de Mandiargues amongst others. Although she never considered herself a Surrealist, Fini participated in almost every major Surrealism exhibition. Along with Frida Kahlo and Leonora Carrington, she is regarded by some as one of the most important women artists of the mid twentieth century. She experimented with a number of disciplines including, painting, set designs and costumes for the Paris Opera and the Metropolitan Opera Association and a famous torso shaped perfume bottle for Schiaparelli's Shocking. As a bisexual a predominant theme in her work is the complex relationship between the sexes. Doodling in exercise books at school, Paul knew he wanted to become an artist from an early age. He studied German, Russian and Arabic at Cambridge University but his love for drawing never ceased. Influenced by Goya and Dore his drawings do not have individual titles. They are quirky and slightly sinister, reminiscent of story tale illustrations. His exhibitions on his series of the "A-Z of Omens" and illustrations inspired by the music of Bob Dylan were both sell out shows. He is reputed to be a very private person, shy about his upbringing and association to his father's name. He always felt the desire to draw and never set about to receive his father's approval in regards to his work. However, he did so once via his half sister Bella and Freud's response was "it's rather good isn't it?" £150 - 250
