NOTE: Views and directions given in these instructions — left, right, front, back, etc. — are from outside of the enclosure, facing the shower.

DO NOT REMOVE your existing shower door until you check your new shower door kit for all the proper parts. Make sure that you have all the proper tools required to assemble your new shower door. Use the check list below. Use a level to check that the sill/shower dam is reasonably level - not more than 1/4″ out of level from side to side. Check the walls for levelness - not more than 1/4″ out of level from top to bottom. If it is out of level more than that, you may need to order custom wall jambs. Tools you will need: • Phillips Screwdriver • Level • Electric Drill • 1/8″ Drill Bit (for fiberglass stall) • 3/16″ Masonry Drill Bit (for tile stall) • 7/64″ Drill Bit • Fine File • Miter Box and Hacksaw with 32 Teeth/Inch Blade • Pliers • Pencil • Hammer • Caulking Gun - Tube of Clear Tub/Tile Silicone • Tape Measure • Safety Glasses • Scissors CAUTION: Wear safety glasses whenever drilling or cutting. Handle the glass panels carefully. The sharp corners of the panels can damage tile and floor covering. Tempered glass cannot be cut. Do NOT let the corners of the Door Panels strike the other glass Door Panel or any hard surface, wall or floor. Even tempered glass may be shattered in this manner.

STEP 2 Removing the Existing Enclosure Note: If this is a new installation, skip to Step 3. After determining that your newly purchased enclosure kit is the correct size, remove the existing shower door and all existing parts of that door assembly. Remove all screw anchors from the wall. Clean silicone sealant or shower caulking and any other contaminants from shower and wall surfaces.

STEP 3 Installing the Bottom Curb/Sill and Wall Jamb A. Locate the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) for the door opening and Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) for the return opening. Locate the Sill Spacers (#15). Cut two Sill Spacers (#15) 1-1/2″ less than the In-line Glass Panel (#26) width. Insert one Sill Spacer (#15) into the groove on Return Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) (See Figure 1). Insert the other Sill Spacer (#15) into the groove on Header (#1). Cut two Sill Spacers (#15) 1-1/2″ less than the Return Glass Panel (#27) width. Insert one Sill Spacer (#15) into the groove on Return Bottom Curb/Sill (#2). Insert the other Sill Spacer (#15) into the groove on Header (#1). Locate one of the 90˚ Corner Brackets (#19), insert one end of the 90˚ Corner Bracket (#19) into one of the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) at the mitered end. Insert the other side of the 90˚ Corner Brackets (#19) into the remaining Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) at the mitered end. Set the two Bottom Curb/Sills (#2) on the shower dam with the weep holes to the inside of the shower. Use four #6 x 3/16″ “B”-Point Screws (#25) to secure the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) together with the 90˚ Corner Brackets (#19).

STEP 1 Checking Contents of Shower Door Package DO NOT use a razor blade to cut open the paper wrapping as you may scratch the contents. Use the IPB Drawing to help you locate the following parts: No. Qty. Description (#1) 2 Header (#2) 2 Bottom Curb/Sill (#3) 1 Insert Jamb with Magnetic Catch and Strike Vinyl (#4) 1 Frameless Glass Door (Drip Rail and End Caps are attached) with CW ® Rotary Gear Hinge Assembly (#5) 1 Slip Jamb Male (#6) 1 Wall Jamb (#7) 1 90˚ Corner Post (#8) 1 Handle (#9) 1 Handle Gasket (#10) 1 Drip Rail (#11) 1 Drip Rail Gasket (#13) 1 1-1/2″ Magnetic Catch (#14) 2 Snap-In Pivot Strip

B. Apply liberal amount of tub and shower Silicone caulking to the underside of the assembled Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) and reposition them on the shower dam with the weep holes to the inside of the shower. Silicone seal the corners where the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) meets the wall, inside and out and at the mitered corner. C. Cut the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2), Slip Jamb Male (#5) and Wall Jamb (#6) at a slight angle (about 45°) where they meet to accommodate the rounded corners of the pan (See Figure 2).

Figure 4

STEP 4 Installing the In-Line and Return Glass Panels A. Place the two Setting Blocks (#16) into the Return Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) and the other two Setting Blocks (#16) into the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) for the In-Line Glass Panel (#26) and door (See Figure 5).

Figure 2 D. Insert the Slip Jamb Male (#5) and the Wall Jamb (#6) into the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) and level. Mark and drill installation holes (the Slip Jamb Male (#5) and the Wall Jamb (#6) come pre-drilled). Remove Jambs. NOTE: Use a 1/8″ Drill Bit for a fiberglass enclosure or a 3/16″ Masonry Drill Bit for tile. Do not use Screw Anchors (#21) for a fiberglass enclosure. NOTE: to the pletely proper

Before Siliconing the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) Shower Dam, make sure the surface is comfree of dirt or any other contaminants to ensure adhesion.

Figure 5 Place the Return Glass Panel (#27) into the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) on top of the Setting Blocks (#16). Cut a 2″ Figure 6 strip of Vertical Press-In Vinyl (#18), temporarily secure the Return Glass Panel (#27) on the outside between the Wall Jamb (#6) and the Glass (See Figure 6). Place the 90° Corner Post (#7) over the glass and into the Bottom Track/Curb (#2). Level and secure with 2″ strip of Vertical Press-In Vinyl (#18).

Figure 3 E. Insert the Slip Jamb Male (#5) and the Wall Jamb (#6) into the Bottom Curb/Sills (#2). Secure the Slip Jamb Male (#5) and the Wall Jamb (#6) with #8 x 1-1/2″ PH SMS (#20) Screws (For tile, use Screw Anchors (#21)). Apply more Silicone where the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) meets the Slip Jamb Male (#5), the Wall Jamb (#6) and the wall.

B. Place the In-Line Glass Panel (#26) into the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) on top of the Setting Blocks (#16). Cut a 2″ strip of Vertical Press-In Vinyl (#18), temporarily secure the In-Line Glass Panel (#26) on the outside between the glass and 90° Corner Post (#7). Make sure the 90° Corner Post (#7) stays level. Place the Insert Jamb (#3) into the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) and over the In-Line Glass Panel (#26), level and temporarily secure with a 2″ strip of Vertical Press-In Vinyl (#18).

F. On the outside of the enclosure, where the Bottom Curb/Sills (#2) meet at the mitered angle, file down the sharp edges of the metal (See Figure 4).

STEP 5 Cutting the Headers to Size

STEP 6 Installing the Headers

Note: The Headers (#1) come in lengths that need to be cut to size to accommodate out-of-square conditions.

A. Locate the Header (#1) for the door opening and Header (#1) for the return opening. Locate one of the 90˚ Corner Brackets (#19), insert one end of the 90˚ Corner Brackets (#19) into one of the Headers (#1) at the mitered end. Insert the other side of the 90˚ Corner Brackets (#19) into the remaining Header (#1) at the mitered end. Set the two Headers (#1) on the vertical pieces of metal (See Figure 10). Use four #6 x 3/16″ “B”-Point Screw (#25) to secure the Header (#1) together with the 90˚ Corner Brackets (#19).

Figure 7

Figure 10

A. You will first need to find the measurement for the Header (#1) that will go over the door. Make sure the 90° Corner Post (#7) is level. Standing outside the enclosure, measure the distance from the wall to the outside edge of the 90° Corner Post (#7). Add 1/8″ to this measurement. For instance if the measurement from the wall to the outside edge of the 90° Corner Post (#7) is 36″, you would add 1/8″ to this for a total of 36-1/8″. Cut the Header (#1) to this measurement. Temporarily place the Header (#1) over the door opening (See Figure 8).

B. Drill assembly holes with a 7/64″ Drill Bit, one at the end of each Header (#1) and one into the 90° Corner Post (#7). Using #6 x 3/16″ “B”-Point Screws (#25) secure the Header (#1) to the 90˚ Corner Post (#7) and secure the Slip Jamb Male (#5) and the Wall Jamb (#6) to the Header (#1) (See Figure 11).

Figure 8

Figure 11

B. Now you are ready to measure the Header (#1) that will be placed over the Return Glass Panel (#27). Standing on the outside of the enclosure, measure the distance from the wall to the end of the front edge (end of the miter) of the Header (#1) (over the door) (See Figure 9). Write this measurement down. Start the Tape Measure on the mitered edge of the Header (#1), mark the straight edge of the Header (#1) with the measurement you wrote down. Cut the Header (#1) that goes over the Return Glass Panel (#27).

C. File any rough edges of the metal at the mitered corners so that the miter is flush (See Figure 12).

Figure 12 Figure 9 C. Remove the Headers (#1). D. Place the two Sill Spacers (#15) that you cut in Step 3 into the Headers (#1).

Figure 13 5

I05000H-180-90-0711

F. Hold the Handle (#8) so that the strike plate is facing into the shower. Flex the Handle (#8) slightly as you press the Handle (#8) over the Handle Gasket (#9) (See Figure 14).

STEP 7 Installing and Adjusting the Door and Insert Jamb Installing the door panel may be easier if you have someone to assist you.

TIP: To make sliding the Handle (#8) onto the door a little easier, try rubbing a little hand soap on the leading edge of the Handle Gasket (#9).

A.Locate the Snap-In Pivot Strip (#14). Snap the Snap-In Pivot Strip (#14) into the Header (#1). Repeat this for the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) making sure the “raised” edge of the Snap-In Pivot Strip (#14) is to the outside of the unit.

STEP 8 Glazing the Vinyl into the In-Line and Return Glass Panels

B. Slide the Frameless Glass Door with CW ® Rotary Gear Hinge Assembly (#4) over the Slip Jamb Male (#5). Support the door with a shim (You can use the cardboard that the door was packaged in to create a shim) or if you have someone assisting you, have them hold the door in place. Stand outside the unit, and make the Door and Insert Jamb with Magnetic Catch and Strike Vinyl (#3) level. Once you have adjusted the unit to be fully level, step inside the shower, mark and drill the installation hole in the top of the CW ® Rotary Gear Hinge Assembly (#4) (through the Slip Jamb Male (#5)). Insert the #6 x 1/4″ “B”-Point Screw (#22) into the top hole and secure (See Figure 13). Stand outside the enclosure and make sure the door is level again. Once leveled, step inside the enclosure, mark and drill the installation hole at the bottom of the CW ® Rotary Gear Hinge Assembly (#4). Secure the #6 x 1/4″ “B”-Point Screw (#22) into the of the CW ® Rotary Gear Hinge Assembly (#4). Mark and drill the installation hole in the middle of the CW ® Rotary Gear Hinge Assembly (#4) and secure the #6 x 1/4″ “B”-Point Screw (#22).

A. Remove the 2″ strips of temporary Vertical Press-In Vinyl (#18) and shift Return Glass Panel (#27) to obtain sufficient overlap along both horizontal and vertical edges. B. Push in the Horizontal Press-In Vinyl (#17) from the outside between the glass and the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) and Header (#1).This task is made easier by using a pen (as shown in Figure 15) to push the vinyl into Bottom Curb/Sill (#2) and Header (#1). Cut square covering the full width of the panel opening. Push the Vertical Press-In Vinyl (#18) from the outside between the Wall Jamb (#6) and the 90° Corner Post (#7).

Figure 15

STEP 9 Silicone Sealing the Enclosure A. Using rubbing alcohol and a lint free rag, thoroughly clean all edges inside and outside where curb or walls meet the horizontal or vertical Jambs. Once the alcohol has dried you will have a clean excellent surface for silicone sealing the enclosure. Using the Clear Tub/Tile Silicone, seal all edges inside and outside where curb or walls meet the horizontal or vertical Jambs (See Figure 16).

Figure 13 C. Standing outside the enclosure, adjust the Insert Jamb (#3) so that it is level with the door. Step inside the enclosure, mark and drill the installation hole at the top of the Insert Jamb (#3) (through the 90° Corner Post (#7)). Secure with a #6 x 1/4″ “B”-Point Screw (#22). Stand outside and make sure the unit is level. Step inside, mark and drill the installation hole in the bottom of the Insert Jamb (#3) and secure with a #6 x 1/4″ “B”-Point Screw (#22).

Figure 16

D. Locate the Handle (#8) and Handle Gasket (#9). E. Position the Handle Gasket (#9) midway on the Frameless Glass Door (#4), wrapping it around the edge of the Door as shown in Figure 14. The Handle (#8) with its magnetic catch should center on the magnetic catch in the Insert Jamb (#3).

B. Standing inside the enclosure, seal the mitered joints in the Header (#1) as well as the Bottom Curb/Sill (#2).

Strike Plate Handle

C. CW ® uses the “Wet Glaze” technique to secure the Return Glass Panel (#27) on the inside of the unit. Run the Clear Tub/Tile Silicone in between the glass and metal, around the entire inside perimeter (See Figures 17A and 17B). Repeat these steps for the In-Line Glass Panel (#26).

STEP 10 Installing the Drip Rail Gasket With a straight edge cut the clear Drip Rail Gasket (#11) 2″ longer than the Drip Rail (#10). Cut a 1/2″ notch into the strike side of the Drip Rail Gasket (#11). Using a lubricant (such as CW ® Glass Cleaner) slide the Drip Rail Gasket (#11) into the smaller channel in the Drip Rail (#10), allow 1/2″ extra gasket on the strike side (including the notch) (see Figure 18). With Pliers, crimp both ends of the Drip Rail (#10) to secure the Drip Rail Gasket (#11). There will be 1-1/2″ overlap on the hinge side of the Drip Rail Gasket (#11) (see Figure 19).

Figure 18 (Drip Rail shown separately, to show how the gasket is installed)

Figure 19

STEP 11 Cleaning the Enclosure Clean the glass and enclosure hardware with a mild nonabrasive cleaner designed for glass such as CW ® Mirror & Glass Cleaner. Avoid using scouring cleansers as this will scratch and mar the beautiful finish on the enclosure.
