Mobil Pegasus 1 Gas Engine Oil Product Description Mobil Pegasus™ 1 is a high performance synthetic gas engine oil designed to meet the highest performance requirements of the most demanding naturally aspirated and turbocharged stoichiometric and lean-burn gas engines. It is formulated from wax-free synthetic base oils and a balanced additive system to provide performance that is unattainable with conventional mineral oil-based gas engine oils. The potential benefit is an improved bottom line through improved engine and oil life, reduced maintenance costs and lower fuel costs. The unique formulation of Mobil Pegasus 1 minimises ash deposits, piston land and ring belt deposits, liner scuffing, and valve seat and valve face wear. It has outstanding resistance to oxidation and the inherently high viscosity index of the synthetic base oil components ensure a protective lubricant film at high temperatures well above the limit for mineral oil-based products. Mobil Pegasus 1 exhibits low volatility, a performance characteristic that helps reduce oil consumption and improve valve lubrication performance measurably. Its unique viscometrics and low traction coefficient reduce power losses and provide potential fuel economy benefits, particularly under variable load, speed and temperature conditions.

Features and Benefits The state-of-the art technology used in Mobil Pegasus 1 is designed to provide a high level of engine performance in a wide range of high-output gas engines. Its outstanding oxidation resistance and thermal stability provide extended service life for both the engines and the oil. In addition, the unique properties of Pegasus 1 will result in lower internal friction under cold start-up and hot running conditions resulting in reduced wear and potentially lower fuel consumption. The use of this product will result in lower maintenance costs through its extended service life capability, reduced filter costs and improved engine life.

Mobil Pegasus 610 Gas Engine Oil Product Description Mobil Pegasus 610 is a high performance gas engine oil primarily intended for the lubrication of modern medium and high speed four-cycle engines operating on fuel that contains corrosive materials such as hydrogen sulphide or halogens (compounds containing chlorine, fluorine, etc.). These engines are generally of the lean-burn turbo charged design where increased manifold pressures prevent sufficient lubricant from reaching the valve guide areas resulting in low oil consumption which can lead to accelerated valve guide and valve recession. This effect also increases the potential for wear and acid attack of upper cylinder components from the acidic materials generated during combustion. The Mobil Pegasus 610 is a 1.0% ash, high TBN gas engine oil with exceptional reserve alkalinity designed to offset the negative effects of these corrosive materials on engine components. The excellent corrosion protection properties prevent corrosive wear in cylinders, valve areas and bearings which can result in longer engine life and lower maintenance costs. Mobil Pegasus 610 provides excellent anti-wear and anti-scuff performance assuring minimal piston scuffing, scoring and cylinder and ring wear. This oil can also be used for the lubrication of the reciprocating compressors in landfill and biomas gas applications. Mobil Pegasus 610 is formulated from high quality mineral base oils combined with an advanced technology 1.0% ash additive system designed to provide excellent protection of engine and compressor components. This product exhibits a high level of chemical stability and resistance to oxidation and nitration. Mobil Pegasus 610 offers outstanding resistance to valve train wear and protection against deposit and sludge formation. These performance advantages combined with the very effective detergency and dispersancy characteristics control the formation of ash and carbon deposits that could result in poor engine performance and detonation.

Features and Benefits Mobil Pegasus 610 Gas Engine Oil provides an additional margin of protection in those applications using contaminated fuel. Its excellent detergent / dispersant technology also results in cleaner engines, lower wear rates and improved engine performance. The use of this product can result in reduced maintenance costs and improved production capacity. Its excellent chemical and oxidation stability can result in longer drain periods and reduced filter costs. The high reserve alkalinity of this product allows its use in engines operating on fuels with moderate amounts of corrosive materials in the fuel gas.

Mobil Pegasus 801 is intended for the lubrication of the crankcase, power cylinders, and compressor cylinders of spark-ignited, two- and four-cycle gas engines operating on clean fuel. Ideal for engines that drive generators for power production or gas compressors in gathering, transmission, storage, and distribution of natural gas. Ebulliently cooled engines Engines in remote locations which operate virtually unattended for long periods. In many cases, the engines are operated at, or in excess of full-rated output, while other applications are intermittent or stand-by service. Reliability, is therefore essential. Mobil Pegasus 801 oils show excellent results in multipurpose natural gas engine applications, particularly involving highly turbocharged engines requiring anti-scuff protection for cylinder liners and piston skirts. When natural or petroleum gas is being compressed and is dry and free of suspended liquids or corrosive components, the compressor cylinders usually are lubricated with the same oil as the engine crankcase. Mobil Pegasus 801has been successful in this service.
