Mifflin County School District New Indian Valley High School Project Summary ™ The project shall consist of a new 251,000 square foot high school capable of housing 1,150 students with core capacity to facilitate future expansion to 1,300. Amenities shall include an auditorium capable of seating the entire student body plus faculty, a 1,500 seat gymnasium, an auxiliary gym and a wrestling room. The cafeteria will be capable of serving as a pre-function space for events in the gymnasium and auditorium. ™ Site work shall include new access drives, parking lots and sidewalks to serve the new high school and all associated utilities, retaining walls and landscaping. ™ A new concrete retaining wall and concrete steps will be provided between the new High School and the existing track in preparation for future bleachers and a press box. An alternate bid shall provide the school district with the option to add the bleachers at this time if bid results are favorable and if so desired. ™ The building structure shall be a steel frame supported by conventional spread footings. ™ The exterior of the building shall be utility sized face brick over concrete block back-up, aluminum windows, storefronts and curtainwall, and EPDM and standing seem metal roofs. ™ Interior finishes shall consist of then set terrazzo floors in the first floor academic wing corridors and in the cafeteria, linoleum floors in the music department and second and third floor corridors, VCT floors in the classrooms and general spaces, ceramic tile floors and walls in the toilet rooms and showers, painted walls and acoustical tile ceilings throughout. ™ The building shall include a fully automatic sprinkler system throughout. ™ The HVAC system shall be a geo-thermal heat pump system. ™ Electrical systems shall include automatic fire alarm system, closed circuit television surveillance, card access, cable television and data cabling systems. ™ Off-site road improvements shall include a new traffic signal at the corner of Cedar Street & Logan Boulevard.

Mifflin County School District New Indian Valley High School Clarifications to Scope of Work

1.

Some storm water piping sizes have not yet been determined. For those pipe missing size designation, we have assumed 15” diameter for estimating purposes.

2.

The estimate includes resurfacing the existing parking lot of the McCardle property along Logan Blvd following installation of the new storm water piping. Resurfacing work shall be limited to the McCardle property and shall not extend into the public right of ways.

3.

Plantings within the Water Quality Islands of the parking lots have not yet been designed. For estimating purposes Reynolds has included an allowance of $20,000 for this work.

4.

Small retaining walls within the parking lot islands have not yet been designed. For estimating purposes Reynolds has assumed 2’ high segmental retaining walls.

5.

A paving section is not provided for the asphalt paths. For estimating purposes Reynolds has assumed 4” of crushed stone and 2” of asphalt paving.

6.

The baseball field is to be used as a stockpile area for topsoil and earth. Following removal of the stockpiled material the contractor shall regrade the outfield, Respread the topsoil and install new sod. The infield shall receive an additional 2” of infield mix and shall be regraded. The chain link fence shall be reinstalled where it was removed for access by earthmoving equipment.

7.

This estimate includes the architectural finish on the soil nail wall by Boulderscapes as approved by the School Board on December 20, 2007.

8.

Resealing and restriping of the existing parking lot on the Logan Associates property is to be performed by the school district under a separate contract and is not included in this estimate.

9.

This estimate includes the added cost of the proposed mezzanine above the cafeteria serving area as approved by the school board on December 20, 2007.
