Phonak FM systems for daily use Even with the most sophisticated hearing instruments, it is often difficult to understand conversation partners in acoustically challenging situations. Whether it is at work or in conversations with friends, speech understanding becomes a challenge as soon as several people meet.

Understanding in background noise Depending on its microphone mode, the transmitter picks up one or several voices and suppresses unwanted background noises. This increases the clarity and audibility of individual voices.

Understanding over distances The voice is picked up by the transmitter and transmitted wirelessly to the hearing instrument. This bridges the distance between talker and listener, giving the best speech understandability.

MicroMLxS When Phonak launched MicroLink MLxS three years ago, it was the smallest universal multi-frequency radio receiver for hearing instruments in the world. It still is. Now, Phonak offers MicroMLxS, which has the same functionality but is only half the size and contains improved signal processing. Another proof of Phonak’s lead in wireless technology.

New: Smart Noise Blocker

The incredible shrinking of MLxS to MicroMLxS was made possible by a new revolutionary Phonak invention: the “isotropic magnetic antenna”. This antenna picks up the electromagnetic waves from the transmitter from all directions and makes the pin orientation no longer necessary. No less than 50% of space was saved by eliminating the mechanical rotation construction for the three pins, combined with a major improvement in the density of the radio frequency circuitry.

MicroMLxS is the first and only miniature wireless receiver on the market with Smart Noise Blocker Technology on board. The Smart Noise Blocker reduces all noises in speech pauses (when a teacher is not talking) and the transmitter is still on. These noises could be either environmental sounds picked up by the teacher's microphone or radio transmission noises. The result is a markedly better sound quality and improved listening comfort, especially at longer distances between talker and listener and when the talker is quiet.

Children and Adults MicroMLxS is a key component for children with hearing impairment. FM systems are widely used in schools, but more and more outside of school as well. FM systems provide children with a direct link to the teacher's voice, or at home to the voices of mom and dad. This clear signal helps children in developing speech and language skills, and supports learning. MyLink MyLink is a multi-frequency FM receiver with neck-loop in a stylish design. MyLink is used in combination with a Phonak FM transmitter, which will pick up the speaker's voice. MyLink, makes wireless communication possible for many hearing instrument users who could not benefit from this technology so far. MyLink is easy, universal, and affordable.

Easy

Wireless systems: also for adults!

MyLink is easy. For fitting, no programming is required. For the enduser, using MyLink is also simple: switch on the FM transmitter, switch on MyLink, and select T or MT on the hearing instrument, and the connection is established.

Studies have shown that user satisfaction with hearing instruments is high, but also that 95% of adult hearing instrument users want better speech recognition in noise. It is widely accepted that wireless transmission of the desired signal to the ear is the best technology to accomplish just that. A study by the American Veterans Administration indicated that adult hearing instrument users were using their wireless communication system one year after the initial fitting just over 6 hours per day. The group studied felt less stigmatized when they were using their wireless system than when they were using their hearing instruments only, presumably because the wireless system improved their communication and their self confidence.

Universal MyLink is universal. It is compatible with all brands and styles of hearing instruments, as long as they have a T-coil, including custom products. MyLink can be used with any of Phonak’s FM transmitters. A headset can be attached to MyLink, making it suitable for listeners without hearing instruments.

Affordable MyLink is an affordable solution because one MyLink can serve two hearing instruments. Together with the affordable EasyLink transmitter, the MyLink-EasyLink bundle is the ideal entry-level wireless solution.
