2015 SEC Tournament March 11-15 Bridgestone Arena • Nashville, Tenn. The 2015 Southeastern Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament returns to Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. It will be the fifth time that the arena has served as the host of the SEC Tournament, having also hosted in 2001, 2006, 2010 and 2013. Also the home of the NHL’s Nashville Predators, Bridgestone Arena has the distinction of being one of the busiest venues in the Unites States over the past decade and a half, hosting more than 18 million guests during that time. Seating capacity is approximately 19,395 for basketball games. The winner of the 13-game tournament receives the SEC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The tournament seeds are determined by the 18-game conference schedule during the regular season. Teams are seeded 1-14 based on their regular season conference finish. Atlanta served as host of the inaugural SEC Tournament played following the 1932-33 season and did so again after the 1933-34 season. The event was held every year through 1952, with the exception of 1935. After a 26-year layoff (1953-78), the tournament was renewed in 1979. The 2012 tournament will be the 52nd in league history and the 33rd since the renewal. The SEC has shown extraordinary balance in the tournament, evidenced by the fact that a different school won the first seven titles after the renewal. The event has helped set the stage for SEC teams in the NCAA Tournament, as 22 First Round Second Round Wednesday, March 11 Thursday, March 12 9 Alabama

of the tournament champions since the tournament resumed in 1979 have advanced to at least the Sweet 16. Three of the last 17 SEC Tournament champions have gone on to win the national championship. Since the renewal in 1979, the SEC Tournament Champion has failed to win at least one NCAA Tournament game only four times. Kentucky leads the league with 28 SEC Tournament titles. Alabama is second with six, while Tennessee and Florida are tied for third with four. Mississippi State has three championship trophies while Georgia, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt have two. Arkansas, Auburn, LSU and former league member Georgia Tech have each won one SEC Tournament championship. Future SEC Tournament Dates and Sites March 9-13, 2016 – Nashville, Tenn. SEC Success Throughout the history of men’s college basketball, the Southeastern Conference has captured 11 NCAA Championships and four NIT titles, putting the SEC as one of the nation’s top basketball conferences. During the 2006-07 academic year the Southeastern Conference became the first conference to win the Division I National Championship in Football (Florida), Men’s Basketball (Florida) and Women’s Basketball (Tennessee) in the same school year. Only the SEC and the Big East have ever won both the men’s and women’s basketball titles in one season. SEC won both three times in 1996, 1998 and 2007. The Big East has won both twice in 2003 and 2004. The SEC swept both the NIT and NCAA Tournaments in 2006 when Florida won its first NCAA championship and South Carolina earned its second straight NIT title. Only four conferences have won both the NIT and NCAA title, including the Big East (2003), ACC (1992) and Big Ten (1979). • The SEC was 12-3 (.800) in the NCAA Tournament and 17-8 (.680) overall in postseason action. • The SEC’s 12 NCAA Tournament wins were the most of any conference (Big Ten 10, American 9). • The SEC won 80 percent (12-3) of its NCAA Tournament games, the best percentage of any conference. • Kentucky made its second appearance in the NCAA championship game in three years (2012) and 12th overall. • The SEC has won three of the last nine NCAA titles (2006-Florida, 2007-Florida, 2012 Kentucky). No other conference has won more than two NCAA titles during that stretch. • Since 1993, the SEC has won six men’s basketball national championships – Arkansas (1994), Kentucky (1996), Kentucky (1998), Florida (2006), Florida (2007) and Kentucky (2012). Only the ACC (6) has won as many men’s basketball titles during this time. • The SEC has won 11 NCAA men’s basketball tournament titles with Kentucky claiming eight (1948, 1949, 1951, 1958, 1978, 1996, 1998 and 2012). Florida has two (2006, 2007) and Arkansas has one (1994). • Florida and Kentucky advanced to the Final Four and Tennessee made it to the Sweet 16. Kentucky made its 16th trip to the Final Four while Florida made its fifth appearance. • Kentucky’s John Calipari is 43-14 (.754) and Florida’s Billy Donovan is 35-12 (.745) in NCAA Tournament games. • This is the first time since 2006 (Florida and LSU) that the SEC has had two teams in the Final Four. It is the fourth time that two SEC teams advanced to the Final Four (1994, 1996, 2006). • Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. It is the most SEC teams in the Sweet 16 since 2007 when three teams (UF, UT, VU) advanced to the Regional Semifinals. It is the sixth time in the last nine years that multiple SEC teams have reached the Sweet 16. • Every SEC team making a postseason appearance in 2014 won at least one game. • The SEC has had at least one team advance to the Sweet 16 in 24 of the last 25 years. Thirteen of the SEC’s 14 members have advanced to the Sweet 16 since 1996. • Three active SEC coaches are the all-time winningest coach at their institution - UF’s Billy Donovan, UM’s Andy Kennedy and VU’s Kevin Stallings. • Every team in the SEC has made at least one NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 11 editions of the NCAA Tournament. • The SEC has won at least 65 percent of its non-conference games since the league expanded to 12 teams in 1991-92. • Over the last seven NBA Drafts, 48 SEC players have heard their names called. Twenty-two of those were selected in the first round and two were the No. 1 overall pick. • Kentucky is the all-time NCAA leader in wins with 2,111 and the Wildcats’ 111 NCAA Tournament victories are the most in tournament history. UK’s 52 NCAA Tournament appearances are the most in the nation.

Just days after upsetting No. 3 seeded Illinois in the opening round of the National Invitation Tournament, the Alabama men’s basketball team fell 73-66 to No. 2 seed Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. In a game where the lead went back and forth, senior guards Rodney Cooper and Levi Randolph led the way for the Crimson Tide, scoring 20 and 17 points, respectively. Cooper’s point total led the game. Junior guard Retin Obasohan and sophomore forward Michael Kessens also scored in double figures, with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Randolph, playing in his school-record 135th game for Alabama, also grabbed seven rebounds during the game while sophomore forward Jimmie Taylor led the Tide with nine. Alabama took a 34-30 lead into halftime, and extended that lead early in the second half before the Hurricanes turned things around. Down 47-45 with just over 11 minutes left in the game, Miami went on a 17-2 run over the next six minutes that broke the game open. Alabama finished its season with a 19-15 record and is now 11-5 over its last 16 NIT games.

Just a couple hours after making the program’s sixth SEC Tournament championship appearance, the Arkansas men’s basketball team will return to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 5 seed in the West Region and will take on No. 12 seed Wofford in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday. The NCAA Tournament appearance will be Razorbacks’ first since 2008 and the program’s 30th overall. Arkansas earned an at-large bid after finishing second in the SEC regular season standings and second in the SEC Tournament. Arkansas enters March Madness at 26-8 overall, its most wins since the 1994-95 season. The Razorbacks have won 10 of its past 13 with all three losses coming to NCAA Tournament teams. Arkansas is 5-5 this season against teams that earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Razorbacks are led by the SEC Player of the Year, Bobby Portis. The sophomore forward is averaging 17.7 points per game this season, the most by an Arkansas player since 2005-06, and 8.8 rebounds per contest. He’s the first Razorback to win SEC Player of the Year honors since Corliss Williamson in 1995. Junior guard Michael Qualls was named to the SEC All-Tournament team after scoring 53 points over the three games. He is averaging 15.4 points per game this season, good for seventh in the conference. This will be the second all-time meeting between Arkansas and Wofford. The Razorbacks defeated the Terriers, 67-45, to open the 2007-08 season at Bud Walton Arena.

GEORGIA BULLDOGS

@UGABasketball

OVERALL: 38-0 (19-0 H, 10-0 A, 9-0 N) SEC: 18-0 (9-0 H, 9-0 A)

Head Coach: Mark Fox 106-89 in 6th season at Georgia 229-132 in 11th season as a head coach

Michigan State turned back two serious challenges by Georgia and advanced into the NCAA Tournament third round with a 70-63 victory. The Bulldogs ended their 2015 season with a valiant effort, twice nearly overcoming double-digit deficits in the final period. The final time came after the cause appeared lost to many in attendance. Alas, they were undone by offensive errors in the first half and an inability to keep State from making a number of clutch plays late. After a Charles Mann 3-pointer gave Georgia a 14-10 advantage, the Spartans took control. They capitalized on three Georgia turnovers to reel off the next 10 points. A foul shot by Lourawls Nairn, Jr., capped the run and gave MSU a 2014 margin with 7:57 left. Michigan State put itself in firm command of the game by closing the first half on a 7-0 run. Travis Trice scored on a dunk with 1:28 left and the Spartans followed a Nemi Djurisic miss with a Trice 3-pointer to put his team ahead 35-22 at intermission. Still, the Bulldogs fought their way back into contention with a solid start to the final period. A driving layup by Mann with 14:07 left capped Georgia’s 10-0 run and cut the margin to a single basket at 39-37. The Bulldogs had one possession to tie or lead, but Mann lost possession, and they were unable to get closer. The State lead eventually reached 13 points again at 58-45 on Bryn Forbes 4-point play with 7:16 left. The margin stayed close to that until the final minutes, when Georgia staged a most improbable rally. Fueled by reserve Cameron Forte, the Bulldogs scored nine unanswered points in just over a minute’s time. When Kenny Gaines converted a 3-point play with just 21 seconds left, Georgia had gotten back within 66-63. MSU’s Denzel Valentine, however, sealed the win by converting four free throws over the closing seconds, thwarting yet another Bulldog rally.

The LSU men’s basketball team (22-10, 11-7 SEC) will make its 21st appearance in program history in the NCAA Basketball Tournament, as it was chosen into the field of 68 as announced Sunday on CBS Sports. The No. 9-seeded Tigers learned Sunday they will face No. 8-seeded NC State (20-13, 10-8 ACC) in the tournament’s second round on at approximately 8:20 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 19, in Pittsburgh, Pa. The winner of this second-round game will face the winner of top-seeded Villanova and No. 16 seed Lafayette on Saturday at a time to be determined. The Tigers are back in the NCAA Tournament after a five year absence … LSU last appeared in the NCAA field in 2009, defeating 9-seed Butler and then advancing to the second round before losing to top seed and eventual national champion North Carolina. LSU is 24-23 in its 20 NCAA Tournament appearances … In this century LSU has appeared in the tournament in 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2009 … LSU advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2000 and the NCAA Final Four in 2006 … The Tigers appeared in what was then a Southeastern Conference record 10 straight NCAA Tournaments in the year from 1984-1993 … LSU has won its first game in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the second round 11 of previous 20 appearances. LSU ranks fourth in the SEC in NCAA Tournament appearances with 21, behind only 54 for Kentucky, 30 for Arkansas and 26 for Missouri … LSU went to the NCAA Final Four in 1986 as an 11 seed, the lowest at that time to ever advance to an NCAA Final Four. Texas A&M saw its season come to an end with a final record of 21-12 … the loss was just A&M’s fourth inside Reed Arena this year (14-4). Texas A&M leads the all-time series, 4-3 … the win snapped a two-game winning streak for A&M over Louisiana Tech (2006 and 2012) and gave the Bulldogs their first victory over the Aggies since 1970. Texas A&M recorded its 14th 20-win season in 2014-15, and the eighth in the last 11 years … only eight teams in the over 103-year history of the program have won more games in a season than the 2014-15 team did. Texas A&M is now 7-7 all-time in the NIT. The loss ended the careers of seniors Jordan Green and Kourtney Roberson … the pair combined to appear in 271 games while leading the Aggies to back-to-back postseason appearances. Kourtney Roberson appeared in his 142nd career game, a school record. Kourtney Roberson scored in double figures (10 points) for the 17th time this season … he finished his A&M career with 1,075 points to rank 29th all-time at Texas A&M … he also finished his career with 833 rebounds to rank seventh all-time. Jordan Green scored in double figures (14 points) for the ninth time this season … Green finished his A&M career with 630 points, 239 rebounds and 184 assists. Freshman Alex Robinson scored a career high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting … he reached double figures for the third straight game and eighth time this year … Robinson’s six rebounds were one shy of his season high. Junior Jalen Jones reached double-digit points 16 for the 25th time in 31 games.

The Commodores advanced to the NIT Quarterfinals with a 92-77 win over South Dakota State. The Commodores played their 30th NIT game in program history and now hold a 20-10 record in the postseason tournament, and they’ve reached the quarterfinals for the sixth time and first since 2005. The Commodores are 13-4 at home in the NIT and have won three straight home games dating back to the 2002 tournament. The Commodores made 81.8 percent of their shots (18-of-22) after halftime. From 3-point range, they were equally impressive, making 77.8 percent in the second half (7-of-9). For the fifth time this season, the Commodores had five players score in double figures - Wade Baldwin IV (20 points), Damian Jones (15), James Siakam (14), Matthew Fisher-Davis (12) and Luke Kornet (12). Fresh off a tying a program-best with 11 blocked shots against St. Mary’s on Wednesday, the Commodores set the school record with 13 versus SDSU. The team made 12 3-pointers - and shot 57.1 percent from beyond the arc - to tie for the second-most this season. The Jackrabbits took their last lead, 59-57, with 9:13 left. Then Vanderbilt’s Damian Jones threw down a one-handed slam dunk to start a 16-0 run in less than three minutes. Wade Baldwin IV started it off and then Matthew FisherDavis made four straight 3-pointers, this after he missed his first seven shots. The Commodores pushed the lead to as many as 17 closed out the game by making their last nine shots and 10 of 11. Wade Baldwin IV was one assist away from a triple double. He set career-highs with 20 points and 10 rebounds (including eight in the first half). He finished with nine assists, one away from tying his career high and also one assist away from becoming just the second player in school history to notch a triple double.
