About the Newsletter:

The Prez Sez: Labor Day is right around the corner and that means our summer is winding down. But it also means cool nights and gorgeous days are right around the corner. Take advantage of a great Friday evening and join us for a Happy Hour. Check this flyer for upcoming locations. On September 15th, we will be having our first Membership meeting of the 201617 season at Tellus360 on King Street. Don has a fun evening planned, so come out, socialize, and start to plan your upcoming ski season. While you are there, say hello to some of our new members. Our Live On Vine committee signed up 23 new members during their event. My compliments go out to Jon and the committee, they put on a fantastic display. BTW, while you are planning your ski trips, if you are planning to go on one of our major trips this season, don’t wait for the last minute to sign up. We currently have one trip sold out and another almost full. Your options are narrowing - sign that form and send it in!. Hedy tells me that she will be Snow Dancing overtime this year, so we are bound to have a great snow season. We had a great turnout at the 52nd annual LSC Corn Roast. Thank you so much George & Joyce Biemesderfer for once again hosting this wonderful event. As always, Chuck, Kelly, and Tanner were indispensable in making it happen and Devy outdid herself with planning the entire day. I definitely had my share of corn and hot dogs - my compliments to all of the volunteers who stepped up to help to make this a successful day. A handful of revelers managed to keep the festivities going until the wee hours of the morning. I was thankful for my Uber ride home. PSA - if you haven’t tried Uber (or any of the similar services), I highly recommend their services. As we are all well aware of the hazards of drinking and driving, these ride services are the easiest way to have a night out on the town and still allow you to get home safely. Check it out, you won’t regret it. I hope to see you all at Tellus360 on the 15th.

The print version will be mailed to all members every other month beginning May, 2013; however, the web newsletter will be updated monthly on our website. If you have any suggestions regarding the newsletter, please contact Jason Frederick at [email protected] . And don’t forget to check out LSC on Facebook and Meetup! Also, watch your email for our weekly Eblasts!

Live On Vine Recap

The 2nd Annual ‘Live on Vine’ held in downtown Lancaster on Saturday, August 13th was a very successful outreach event for Lancaster Ski Club! The club set up a vendor booth to both attract new club members and to spread the word in the community about LSC. Our club booth volunteers survived the heat wave and succeeded on the two counts, connecting with many new members as well as speaking with hundreds of new people interested in our club! In all, over 20 new people joined the club: young and old, singles and families, skiers and snowboarders, beginners and experts. Look to see a lot of the new faces at the first membership meeting of the ‘16/’17 season in September at Tellus360, and please help the new members feel welcome by saying hello and introducing yourself. Check the website or contact Jon Doman for more information. Our trip to Whistler, Canada has only a few seats left. Incredible destination, incredible price! We are also looking at running a day trip to Jack Frost/Big Boulder as a carpool trip. The Trip Committee is always interested in having members participate on the Trip Committee and those interested in volunteering to lead a trip. Corn Roast Recap

This year’s 52nd Annual LSC Corn Roast at the ‘The Dell’ was once again a huge success. A great big thankyou to the Biemesderfers for hosting this wonderful event that’s always such a great time! The food, friends, games, music, and fellowship were second to none! In addition to the ever-popular corn-on-the-cob, hotdogs, snacks, and great company, the 2017 major and weekend trips were also on sale - and one is now sold out! Thank you all so very much for your assistance in the planning, set up, and tear down, as well as all the assistance provided by the many members on the day of the event. This is a huge event and a lot of effort goes into planning and pulling it off. This year's success would not have been experienced if it weren't for the many dedicated club members who volunteer their time to help in many different areas. Your efforts do not go unnoticed and are certainly appreciated! Another great big "THANK YOU"! Devera Kazmerski, Past President & Social Committee [email protected] or (717) 371-1178
