MEET OUR CREW

The late Steve Jobs, Co-Founder of Apple, said, “Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” These very special people are like that.

CChhrriiss CCoom mppttoonn,, CCM MH HE E CEO, Founder, and Director Chris, a 20 year HVACR instructor at North Idaho College, saw a unique opportunity in online education (high quality education anywhere and anytime via the Internet) to help new students and anyone already working in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and or Building Performance industry to: 1) enter the HVACR trade 2) move up the career ladder 3) re-train for a career change 4) refresh knowledge and skills 5) succeed in achieving industry certifications 6) earn Continuing Education Units for re-certification From that idea, HVACRedu.net grew. Chris has become the specialist in online curriculum development for the trades, the psychology behind online learning, creating web pages, use of video and simulation instruction, and learning through the web. Chris is the CEO, Project Director, and Content Development Manager (as well as chief cook and bottle washer) of HVACRedu.net. Chris brings 37 years of experience in the HVACR field as a student, technician, contractor, and instructor. He has been certified at the Installation and Service level in all five of the NATE certifications. In 1998 he was selected as one of the top 10 outstanding Trades and Industry Educators in the U.S. by ACTE (Association of Career and Technical Education), formerly AVA (American Vocational Association). He received the Imperial Award from RSES for Commercial Refrigeration in 1997, and is a CMS member of RSES. Chris has achieved the CMHE (Certified Master HVACR Educator) status from HVAC Excellence. In 2014 he was selected as the Teacher of the Year by the ACHR News. Chris serves as an educational consultant and advisor to HVACR and Building Performance online learning efforts around the Globe. Chris loves the outdoors – especially when he’s fly fishing, driving his “brand new” 1948 Stinson 108-3, playing horseshoes, working the Blue C Ranch, singing bluegrass or trolling for silvers in the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Chris can be reached at [email protected] or look for him at an HVACR or online learning conference anywhere.

LLaaD Doonnnnaa B Baaiinn Accounting Manager I am truly honored to be part of HVACRedu.net. I attended Temple University for Technical Education and developed the first Parts & Service Program in the State of Pennsylvania. I hold a Technical Vocational 1 Certificate in PA, and Technical Education Certificate in Idaho. I have five years teaching experience including: Marketing & Distribution, Parts & Service Management, Inventory, and Business operations and Management. I worked for Reynolds & Reynolds as an automotive software consultant for five years training live operations of a dealership. My background also includes over twenty years of automotive customer service experience. I’m excited to work with HVACRedu.net because it is the first online HVACR Technical Education program. The curriculum and programs are the best I’ve ever seen. There will always be jobs in this field and you can learn from home. On a personal note, I am native of Idaho-Montana and am pleased to be back home in the mountains. In my spare time, I ride horses, hike, plant flowers and love the great outdoors. LaDonna can be reached at [email protected].

LLeeeeA Annnn B Boonnddss Administration and Student Services Assistant I found my way to HVACRedu.net while exploring a new job search site, looking for resources to help the women I tutored at a local nonprofit. The first thing I saw was the perfect job for me! Learning and teaching have always been my joy. I grew up all over the world as a military brat, then traveled for ten more years as an Army wife. For a wondrous 20 years I homeschooled our two sons, all the way into distance-learning college courses at NIC. Over the years I learned to write, sold stories to magazines, and wrote a weekly online Bible Basics column. Still working on that first novel….

The kids grew up and left (mission accomplished!), so the time was right to put my long-dormant Business degree from Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts, my Northern Idaho Internet Masters Course from the University of Idaho, and my increasing computer and internet skills to use. I love working in Student Services! I get to welcome students into our terrific programs, research questions, troubleshoot problems, and talk with lots of men and women working hard to improve their job skills to make a better living for their families. It's satisfying work, and I look forward to each day's challenges! I recently moved from the great Northwest to Maui, Hawaii, so instead of pine trees and deer outside my office window, I have sunshine and geckos. I’m loving that, too. I can be reached at [email protected].
