Magazine Profile Texas Runner & Triathlete (TRT), published monthly, is the merged successor of Inside Texas Running and Runner Triathlete News. Inside Texas Running has been serving the Texas running community for 33 years while Runner Triathlete News has been covering the endurance sports scene in Texas and the surrounding four states of New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana for 25 years. Coverage of events includes marathons, half marathons, and major community road races, triathlons, duathlons, cycling and adventure racing. TRT’s calendar of forthcoming racing events is the most comprehensive that can be found for the five-state region and is among the major reasons that the athletes subscribe to the magazine. For participants this is vital to their planning, as many athletes schedule their weekends and time-off to travel hundreds of miles to compete. In addition, TRT provides its readers with authoritative news and expert views of a wide variety of topics, ranging from interviews with interesting and elite athletes, nutrition guides, training tips, new products, performance rankings, as well as running community news. Other areas of special editorial emphasis include highlighting the prolific growth of Marathons in Texas (now numbering 40) and coverage of high school cross country and track & field. The new publication will also continue with the special grass-roots relationship with 42 local running and triathlon clubs that have made a paid subscription part of their membership fee. TRT maintains a website as an adjunct to its print publication which is accessible only to those that are paid subscribers or advertisers. The website – www.TexasRunnerTriathlete.com – does not duplicate the magazine but is an extension of coverage which includes daily and breaking news, race results, “year long” race calendar, archives, message board and our “market place” super store & service annex with a direct link to providers’ websites. Advertising in Texas Runner & Triathlete is a race director’s most effective promotional tool. It is the easiest and most efficient way to induce pre-race registration. Texas Runner & Triathlete is a member of the Endurance Sports Media Group, a national editorial and advertising clearinghouse for 20 regional and specialized running magazines in the United States. Collectively they boast of a circulation in excess of 400,000. TRT is also the official magazine of the South-Midwest region of USA Triathlon, the national governing body.

Circulation & Distribution Texas Runner & Triathlete (TRT) distributes between 10,000 and 15,000 copies each month to runners, triathletes, event organizers, sports medicine practitioners, sportswear industry, trainers, coaches, fitness gurus and others who have a vested interest in the sport. The avenues of circulation are “paid” subscribers via the mail ($18.00 a year), over-the-counter sales (through running and biking retail outlets) and event distribution. Ninety percent (90%) of our U.S. Postal distribution under “periodicals permit” is paid. Our circulation has a special grass-roots relationship as 42 local running and triathlon clubs have made a paid subscription part of their membership fee. Prior to each month’s printing, requests from event organizers are tallied to arrive at our press run number. These requests for magazines are then shipped to the race where they are placed in the race packets that are given to the race entrants or are passed out at exhibit expos that are held in conjunction with the race. Total monthly readership of the magazine can reach as high as 50,000 according to our renewal surveys. Based on renewal invoices, which asks how many other people read TRT, 4.3 people were indicated on the average to have read the magazine per each subscription recipient.

See mechanicals page for acceptable ad formats and ad submission. • Bleeds or oversize – no charge. Applies to full pages only; must be 1/4 inch over trim size.
