Tutorial is the time when students can meet with their teachers to ask questions, turn in late assignments or get further explanation about class work. Achievement Time (AT) - The last 15 minutes of class are known as AT or Achievement Time. Teachers may use this time to provide instruction to students who are below the C grade level or who need additional support. Those students not in AT may use this time between classes to meet with other students, do projects or homework or use the library.

Winter Operations During the winter, weather conditions may sometimes cause changes in the hours of school operation. Typically that would result in a two hour delay, meaning a 9:10 AM start time. Parents/students should listen to local television, radio, check the Edmonds School District website, or go to www.schoolreport.org for specific information.

Altered Schedules Pre-planned altered schedules (half day, late arrival, early dismissal, final exam, and district testing), will be posted on the MHS website, or found in The Connection.

PARKING Students driving motor vehicles to school are required to complete an application for purchase of a permit. The cost of the permit is $45 for the school year. Valid permits must be visible in vehicles parked in the student parking lot. Cars are not to be entered or used in any way other than transportation to and from school without expressed permission from the principal or designee. Students who park improperly in the parking lots or fail to adhere to driving rules may have their vehicle towed, lose their parking permit, and/or have progressive discipline imposed in accordance with state law (WAC 392-400-225).

OFF-CAMPUS PASSES Juniors and Seniors may fill out an off-campus application with the appropriate assistant principal. If attendance, grades, and discipline history are all satisfactory, they will receive an off campus sticker for their ASB card.

CELL PHONES / ELECTRONICS Electronic communication devices are not to be used on campus during school hours. Such devices will be confiscated. Progressive discipline will be imposed for students who continue to violate policy. Students have access to a phone in the main office as well as pay phones. The school is not liable for lost or stolen items. In the event of an emergency, parents are urged to contact the Attendance Office 425/431-7654 so that the student can be notified immediately.

MEDICATION POLICY Students may bring one dosage of either prescription or non-prescription medications to school, provided the medication is in its original packaging and accompanied by a parental note granting permission for the student to take medications at school.
