MERRY CHRISTMAS! JESUS is BORN to us once more… and this is story for all times: yesterday, today, and tomorrow. But every BIRTHING brings new beginnings and new stories. And I would like to share with you this e-mail I received… it is a letter from JESUS. The title is: “REMEMBER MY BIRTHDAY?” Here it goes:

Feliz Navidad Jesús ha Nacido para nosotros una vez más...y esta es la historia para todos los tiempos: ayer, hoy y mañana. Pero toda RESPIRACION trae nuevo comienzo y nuevas historias. Y yo quisiera compartir contigo este e-mail que recibí...es una carta de Jesús. El título es: “¿RECUERDAS MI CUMPLEAÑO?” Aquí va:

Dear YOU: Remember my birthday? Every year there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that my birthday – CHRISTMAS, is getting closer and closer. It is nice to know that, at least, some people think of me.

Querido TU: ¿Recuerdas mi cumpleaños? Todos los años hay una celebración en mi honor y yo pienso que este año la celebración ser repetirá. Durante este tiempo hay mucha gente comprando para regalar, hay muchos anuncios en la radio, anuncios comerciales en la TV, y en todos partes del mundo todos están hablando de que mi cumpleaños - NAVIDAD, esta cada día más cercano, es muy bueno escuchar eso, por lo menos, alguien piensa en mi.

As you know the celebration of my birthday began 2000 years ago. At first, people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them. But, in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration. Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they began to forget the meaning of the celebration.

Como usted sabe la celebración de mi cumpleaños comenzó 2000 años atrás. Al principio, la gente parecía entender y estar agradecidos por todo lo que yo hice por ellos. Pero, en estos tiempos, nadie parece saber la razón de la celebración. Familias y amigos se juntan y tienen mucha alegría, pero ellos comienzan a olvidar el significado de la celebración.

And every year, it gets worse. People only remember to eat and drink, the gifts, the parties and nobody remembers me. To add insult to injury, shopping malls and advertisement removed the reference to my birthday – CHRISTMAS, and replaced it with the word “HOLIDAY!” It seems that the heart of the human person created in my likeness and image is beginning to erase me from its memory bank.

Y cada año, se vuelve peor. La gente solamente recuerda el comer y beber, los regalos, las fiestas y nadie me recuerda a mi. Para añadir más insulto, los comercios y los anuncios remuevan la referencia a mi cumpleaños - NAVIDAD, y parece que el corazón de la persona humana creada a mi imagen y semejanza está comenzando a borrarme de su banco de memoria.

Before it’s too late, I want to share something with you. I would like - this CHRISTMAS, that you allow me to enter into your life. I would like you to recognize the fact that almost 2000 years ago I came to this world to give my life for you, on the cross, to save you, because I love you. And that love is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. I only beg you that you believe this with all your heart.

Antes de que esto sea muy tarde, yo quiero compartir algo con ustedes. Yo quiero - esta NAVIDAD, que tu me dejes entrar en tu vida. ADULT FAITH FORMATION Mark your calendar for January 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28!!! – The parish has designated this week as Adult Faith Formation Workshops Week. Parents in Faith formation and all adults (young adults included) are strongly encouraged to participate in growing in the knowledge and practice of their faith. Workshop topics include:Cooperative Parenting, How to Cope with the Loss of a Loved One, Sin/Reconciliation, the sacrament of the Eucharist, Code of Conduct, Family Financial Management, Raising Catholic Children, and many more. The Adult Faith Formation Week is an attempt to implement the Church’s teaching that faith formation does not STOP at Confirmation nor at adulthood. Faith Formation is from WOMB to TOMB!!!

FORMACIÓN DE FE ADULTA ¡¡¡Apunten en su calendario los días 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, y 28 de enero!!! - La parroquia ha designado esta semana como La Semana Talleres de Formación de Fe Adulta. Los padres en Formación de Fe y todos los adultos (incluyendo los adultos jóvenes) se les anima totalmente a participar a crecer en el conocimiento y en la práctica de su fe. CATECHISTS NEEDED!!! God and St. Christopher Church need committed and dedicated people to teach the youth in our parish to know God, love God, and serve God. Requirements: one who has a deep love for God and children; open to the teachings of the Council of Vatican II; willing to grow in faith by going to the in-service training offered by the diocese and the parish. A Catechist is one who responds to the call of God. If you feel God’s call in your heart please call the Faith Formation Office at 951- 924-1968.

Adult Confirmation Anyone 18 years or older who is interested in receiving the sacrament of Confirmation can register with in the Faith Formation Office. (924-1968) Classes will begin on Feb. 15 @ 7 pm in Domas Hall. You will need a copy of your Baptismal certificate and 1st Communion certificate. There will be a $10 book fee.

The Diocesan Development Fund 2005 We have received 516 pledges in this year’s campaign. The total pledged so far this year is $133,225. Total amount paid is $119,944. Thanks to everyone who has made a pledge or a one-time gift. If you haven’t made a pledge or a one-time gift, please consider doing so now. Pledge envelopes are available from the ushers or at the Parish Office. Remember every pledge or one-time gift, no matter the size is welcomed. Our goal this year is $63,500.00. Remember, 100% of all monies collected over this goal will come back to our parish for our future building needs. Many thanks for your continued generosity.
