Mary Vann Website Redesign Project …a proposal for website design and development

This proposal proposes a solution that will improve the online marketing effectiveness of Mary Vann, while at the same time make it easy of the Mary Vann staff to update website content with a new Content Management System (CMS). This new CMS will allow the company’s non-technical staff to self-manage the development and maintenance of relevant content that will elevate the site in organic search rankings (SEO), while at the same time support the effective marketing of the company’s real estate services.

Goals for the Website Redesign: The following details the goals that we foresee for the new Mary Vann website. These goals are based on input from the principals of Mary Vann coupled with other goals that TazminWeb routinely proposes for our other client website redesign initiatives.



Provide visitors, both customers and prospects with a source of current and comprehensive information regarding the services of Mary Vann;



Bring the site up to date from both a technology and design perspective to support new business development with a superior ‘look and feel’ for the website;



Incorporate Responsive Design to the website to allow for effective rendering of content on mobile devices;



Deliver a Content Management System (CMS) with a capability to easily update content, add or delete pages and managed by non-technical staff;



Incorporate logo and tagline; deliver a consistent brand image;



Create site which presents searchable content (SEO) in an easy to search and navigate fashion; improved usability and intuitive layout (user-friendly);



Incorporate flexible design features to be able to effectively introduce new information and promotion of services;



Increase traffic and improve conversion rate to move the prospect through the buying process with improved usability and enticing site design;



Deliver website visitor analytics;



Create Search Engine Optimization (SEO) “friendly” infrastructure so site can be optimized for improved Search Engine Results Placement (SERP);

CMS power and flexibility will allow Mary Vann staff to easily maintain site content. Non-technical authors and editors will be able to quickly add, edit and publish content. The Umbraco CMS will allow various levels of administrative access, so updating can be shared across the organization, if desired. CMS keeps design and content separate ensuring a common and consistent information architecture:    

In addition all inputs will be validated.

The published site will not use any SQL connection by default. If a SQL connection is necessary only a stored procedure model of development will be utilized with strongly typed parameterized stored procedures.

Site will be safeguarded against cross-site scripting.



The two most important countermeasures to prevent cross-site scripting attacks are utilized
