SurvitecZodiac SOLAS Marine Evacuation Systems are suitable for use on freeboard heights between 1.5 & 33 metres. All SurvitecZodiac MES Liferafts conform to SOLAS regulations including the HSC Code and when used in conjunction with slides, are EC(MED) and USCG approved as Marine Evacuation Systems. All SurvitecZodiac Liferafts are approved to SOLAS regulations by various flag states including the European Commission Directive 96/98/EC. All SurvitecZodiac MES Slides have been tested and approved via Heavy Weather Sea Trials, with minimum Beaufort 6 wind conditions and minimum 3 metres significant wave height.

1. Enquiry Minimum amount of information is required by SurvitecZodiac to issue a full & precise technical & commercial offer:

• references of Project (Name, Hull etc) • owner/architect/yard (contact details) • type of ship (HSC, ro-pax vessel, cruise vessel, naval vessel etc) • capacities (passengers + crew members) • approval & regulation • vessel’s GA drawing in AutoCAD (.dxf or .dwg) • project planning

2. Proposal Once all information has been supplied, the customer can expect a proposal consisting of:

• scope of supply & price

3. Order Upon receipt of the order, SurvitecZodiac will supply:

• initial arrangement drawing with full details

4. Commissioning Phase consists of:

• installing MES onboard the ship

• conceptual arrangement drawing • evacuation procedure • commercial conditions • technical documentation of the equipment to be supplied

• associated initial evacuation • these documents will be sent to the customer for approval before starting the equipment manufacture & supply phase

• training the crew members • performing a harbour trial deployment • repacking & reinstalling the deployed equipment

5. Final documentation The file comprises:

• commissioning report with the authorities signed approval • final GA drawing • owner & installation manuals • maintenance manuals • certificates of equipment • training DVD

Remote Launch Feature Speeds Up Deployment SurvitecZodiac Medium Inflatable Slides (MIS) now have an additional & highly innovative feature allowing remote launch. This new system enables a second liferaft to be remotely launched after the double track escape slide has been deployed and its first 151 person ORIL (Open Reversible Inflatable Liferaft) has been inflated. By pulling a painter line on the ship, the second ORIL can be deployed without delay. Previously it was necessary for a crew member to descend into the first ORIL, from where the second could be inflated. However this new development eliminates the need for any crew to leave the ship ahead of passengers and permits the almost immediate deployment of a second ORIL as soon as the first has been activated. This is expected to save valuable seconds of vessel evacuation time for passengers and crew.

SurvitecZodiac Small Inflatable Slide Systems (SIS) These Low Free-Board Systems are ideal for evacuating vessels within 1.5 to 3.8 metres. Mini Slides & Liferafts / ORIL Stowed near to the evacuation point, liferafts / ORIL are launched remotely, inflated and bowsed into position using either manual or automatic electric winches. A mini slide is then inflated and deployed into the liferaft / ORIL. Evacuation Slide Systems The ESS System is a stowage cassette which is integrated into the ship’s bulwark or side rails. Within the cassette is a large capacity liferaft and a mini slide. When deployment is initiated the liferaft inflates and the mini slide is automatically inflated into the liferaft. Once inflated, the liferaft is bowsed to the ships side and is then ready for the evacuation to commence. Automatic Escape Slide Systems A patented, fully automated ESS. The deployment of an ESS Auto frees up members of the crew to assist in other areas of the evacuation, such as marshalling the passengers. A simple to use, electronic release button situated either on the vessel bridge or at a remote control point is used to deploy the system. Once activated, electric bowsing winches automatically operate to bowse the liferaft securely into position. This hands-free system is fully deployed in approximately one minute.

SurvitecZodiac Medium height Inflatable Systems (MIS) This Twin Track Inflatable Slide System is currently available for heights between 3.8 & 12.5 metres. This system deploys at right angles to the vessel. The MIS slide is packed together with either a 100/150 person Throwover or Throwover self-righting canopied liferaft. When supplied for use with 100/151 ORIL’s, a second liferaft can be packed into the container so when inflated and bowsed, it is immediately available for boarding. Secondary liferafts can be available for bowsing outboard of the receiving raft. Main Features •

Range of liferaft (TO/TOSR or ORIL) large capacity equipped with Venturi aspirators

Reduced crew requirements for operation

Easy to operate

Twin Track slide on which descent speed can be varied

Accessible to all passengers regardless of age, size or physical capability

• Flexible • Simple

installation for closed deck and open deck vessels and quick to install & reinstall after service

Electric remote release system which automatically performs a complete system test

Float-free system operates before the water reaches the evacuation deck

DBC Vertical Chutes The DBC brand of chute systems are available* in single & double track formats for use at heights up to 33 metres. The system comprises a vertical chute with a platform at the base. Throwover liferafts are connected via an interface to the receiving platform. The chute and platform are contained in a housing on the evacuation deck. A simple pull handle automatically deploys the chute and inflates the receiving platform. Passengers and crew simply jump into the chute and their vertical descent is controlled via the engineered vertical descent control mechanism (zig-zag system). * depending on flag state approval status
