MALAYSIA On behalf of UniGroup Relocation, we will be coordinating the shipment of your goods to Malaysia. To simplify the process, we have outlined the necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition. This will also review your responsibilities in assisting with this process In addition to the points below; the following pages will outline the requirements, which will be facilitated by our local representative in Malaysia to complete the clearance. They will assist with each item specific to your shipment so please be assured they will do whatever is necessary to facilitate a quick and efficient clearance. The documentation process can take one to two weeks in addition to the movement of your shipment; airfreight between three to four weeks or ocean between six to eight weeks, depending on the origin. Please be advised, customs is a dynamic factor in any country and regular updates and changes are made. It is extremely important that you take a few moments to review these important requirements, as they will allow us to process the release of your personal property through foreign Customs. Customs and immigration requirements are established by the country of import and not by UniGroup Relocation. This guide has been designed to assist clients understand and comply with country-specific requirements. Substantial effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is current and correct. Such regulations, however, are subject to change without notice by the country of import. UniGroup Relocation assumes no liability for changes in the law or interpretation by enforcement personnel as it exists at the time you and/or your goods enter the country.

Visa Requirements – Details Please advise your local representative or UniGroup Relocation Representative of the “Type” of passport or visa you will be travelling under (working visa, temporary visa, diplomatic, etc.). When moving to Malaysia, some specific documents will be required in order to satisfy local immigration officials. Note that Malaysian Immigration Committee will review every Employment Pass application, on a case by case basis, in order to determine whether the applicant’s age matches the qualifications, and experience required for the respective position. *Contact address and telephone number must be listed on all documents. Requirements for a tourist visa: • Passport with validity of more than six months. • Two visa application forms duly filled out and signed. Photocopy can be used. • Two recent passport-sized color photographs with a light background glued as indicated on the visa application form. • Covering letter from the applicant on company's letterhead stating name, designation, purpose and duration of visit. • Financial solvency proof (i.e., bank statement for the last six months, income tax paper for the last 3 years). • Confirmed return air ticket. Online I-visa application (only for single-entry): • Passport valid for minimum six months. • Two recent passport-sized color photographs with white background. • Covering letter from the applicant stating name, designation, purpose

As of August 15th, 2010, the Malaysian Immigration Authorities will stop issuing Visas on Arrival to visitors from several countries, who will have to apply for Visas at their respective Malaysian Embassy/Consulate overseas prior to traveling to Malaysia. Detailed inventory in English (Two copies) listing exact contents of the shipment. Separate list of electrical items/appliances stating brand, model, serial numbers, year purchased, country of origin and voltage. This list must be submitted prior to the shipment’s arrival, so an electrical permit can be obtained for Customs clearance. Separate list of new items.

Letter of Authorization

Letter authorizing the destination agent to clear the shipment, signed by the shipper.

Letter of Undertaking & DP10 Application

Effective Aug 18th, 2010, the Immigration Authorities require the sponsoring entity, to submit a signed Letter of Undertaking, along with the standard DP10 application documents, for expatriates regardless of salary. • Letter of Undertaking must be signed by the Company Director, and submitted to the Immigration Authorities in two original copies. • The original employment contract between the expat and sponsoring entity must be duly stamped and submitted to Immigration Authorities for the DP10 stage.

Duties Personal & household goods can be imported duty-free under the following conditions: •

Goods must been in the shipper’s possession and used for a minimum of six months prior to arrival in Malaysia. The shipper must be in Malaysia prior to the shipment’s arrival to sign the appropriate documentation and submit a copy of his/her passport and entry stamp. The goods will not be disposed of within 3 months from the date of import. The shipper is a foreigner who has a work permit or a letter from his/her employer in Malaysia. The shipper is a returning Malaysian resident who has resided abroad continuously for at least 12 months.

Returning Malaysians may import one shipment of used (at least six months old) household goods/ personal effects duty-free. Purchase receipts must be presented to Customs for items that look new. Expatriate personnel may import shipments of used items duty-free. Customs clearance is always completed at the port of entry and subject to 100% Customs examination. Duty-free, temporary import of goods can be granted for 3 months, if a bank guarantee is posted for the amount of duty due.

Restricted and Prohibited – Imports All countries, including Malaysia, prohibit and restrict the importation of certain dangerous or sensitive items.

Restricted Items: • All items less than six months old or items that appear new require invoices. All new items will be subject to taxes and duties. • Alcohol and tobacco products (for personal consumption) are subject to high import duties and sales taxes of 15%. • All precious metal objects. • CDs, DVDs, laser discs and video tapes are subject to approval and possible editing by the censorship board. Censorship fees are levied on these articles and the cost depends on the quantity imported. Anything deemed unsuitable will be destroyed.

All types of firearms (including toy guns and pistols), weaponry, fireworks, explosives, ammunition, daggers and flick-knives. Narcotics and drugs are strictly prohibited. Any products of Israel, South Africa or Haiti. Coral. Turtle eggs. Cloth with reproductions of verses from the Koran.

Motor Vehicles – Imports Motor vehicles are subject to import permit and duties whether new or used. Duties are 60% for motorcycles and 170300% for cars. Importing motor vehicles is generally not recommended.

WOOD PACKAGING MATERIAL U

International wood packing requirements are in accordance with ISPM 15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures: Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade*) as of 5 July 2006: *ISPM 15 is produced by the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). ISPM 15 requires certain phytosanitary procedures, in particular heat treatment or methyl bromide fumigation, relating to wood packaging material (including dunnage) made of raw wood in use in international trade; the phytosanitary procedures are meant to minimize the risk of introducing and spreading certain pests that live and breed in raw wood.

Be subject to one of the approved measures as specified in Annex I To FAO ISPM 15 (currently, heat treatment or methyl bromide fumigation) Display a mark with: o The two-letter ISO Country Code (in place of XX in the image below) o A code identifying the producer (in place of 000 in the image below) o The code identifying the approved measure applied to the wood packing material in the mark as specified in Annex II to FAO ISPM 15 (in place of YY in the image below; examples are HT For “Heat Treatment” and MB for “Methyl Bromide Fumigation”) o Where “debarking” is required, the letters “DB” shall be added to the abbreviation of the approved measure included in the said mark o The logo as specified in Annex II to FAO ISPM 15 (this logo is the ippc trademarked graphic symbol shown in the image below on the left side)
